Masculine & Feminine Energies: How to find balance

We are more aware energetically and spiritually and are living in a world that is different than any other period in history. When combining consciousness of the Universe, Earth, and Mass with our own energy we are bound to get a little off balance with our inner masculine and feminine energies.

Within each being, regardless of their gender, reside Masculine and Feminine energy. Finding balance within these energies is extremely important and something many overlook. Being unbalanced can affect many aspects of our lives. People who tend to be high in their masculine energy can be toxic and have unhealthy patterns toward other people. People who are high in their feminine energy tend to be toxic towards themselves. Creating balance in your masculine and feminine energies will help improve many aspects of your life and can also improve your physical, emotional and spiritual energies. Here are some common characteristics for masculine and feminine energies.

For a male, optimal balance in your energy field is 60% masculine energy and 40% feminine energy. If you are out of balance and have a weak masculine energy, you may notice that you experience more of the following: fear, anger, doubt, indecisiveness, unreasonableness with others, and the inability to move forward. It is also possible for a male to experience a higher feminine energy. In that case, it would be possible for him to feel overly emotional with things that can intensify some the characteristics of a lower masculine level.

Feminine (Yin) Qualities are characterized by:

  • Compassionate
  • Creative
  • Emotional
  • Empathic
  • Instinctual wisdom
  • Intuitive
  • Multi-tasking
  • Nurturing
  • Receptive
  • Relating

For a female, optimal balance in your energy field is 60% feminine energy and 40% masculine energy. Some indications that you may be out of balance due to a weaker feminine energy are: being closed off from others, tending to be greedy, and tending to isolate yourself because you do not want to give of yourself or share anything you have. A female with a weaker feminine energy will also blame others for everything and not take responsibility for any of her own actions. It is also possible for a female to experience a higher masculine energy and, in that case, it would be possible for her to feel overly logical and in her own mind more than in her heart, and become more assertive with things that can intensify some the qualities of a lower feminine level.

Ways to balance

There are many different ways you can bring balance to your masculine and feminine energy. But, the key is the old saying “treat others they was you wish to be treated”.  Doing so, or at least trying to, keeps your true nature in balance. Think of your masculine and feminine energy as the scales of justice. When you are true to yourself and true to others, the balance is aligned and in this case aligned with the 60/40 balance based on your need. It also allows you to check in with your own feelings and see where you are. Other ways to balance these energies is by first being honest with yourself and recognizing you have an imbalance. Another key way to keep your masculine and feminine energies balanced is to keep your energy grounded. There are many different ways that you can achieve grounding your energy. These include eating vegetables or red meat, taking a salt bath, exercising, spending time in nature, and even using stones or crystals. Spiritual healing methods such as Reiki, Shamanic Healing and any Healing energy work can also assist you in achieving balance plus so much more. Winter Solstice: Yule Celebration of Lights

978d08b5-2f61-4463-bc16-1375a956f28aFor more than thousands of years the Winter Solstice, also known as Yule, has been a celebration of the rebirth of the Sun. Signifying light coming back to the Earth while beginning winter. The days start to stay lighter longer, and the new solar year begins. It is truly a magical time! On December 21st   2015, at 11:48pm EST the Northern Hemisphere will experience its winter solstice. The longest night if the year, it will bring balance to the Earth and then allow the light to shine. It is rich in traditions and lore. Did you know that most ancient stone circles are built around the sunrise of the winter solstice? The solstice is also symbolic of a time of hope and miracles because, even through the darkest times, we can rest assured that the light will come.  This is probably one of my favorite times of the year. Maybe it is because I am Capricorn, or maybe because I have witnessed and been a part of a real miracle that took place on the Winter Solstice in 2012 or perhaps because as humanity we draw our attention to things like charity, good will towards men and peace on Earth. Our spirits are lifted somehow and we draw together as a community and help others who are in need. We remember the things that are important and we cherish what we have in our lives. At the same time, whether we are conscious of it or not, we are reflective of the past year. We grieve the losses we experienced, and yet are hopeful for what is to come. Just like the sun comes back and rises, our own inner light resurrects inside of us with love, joy and faith. There are so many great traditions and celebrations that you can incorporate into your own space for this special evening. Here are a few of my favorites that you can do on your own or with friends, family or loved ones.

  • Growing up, our family called it a Buche de Noel, but it is also known as a Yule log, so for the Winter Solstice find a recipe that works for you and your family, and decorate it with whatever your heart desires, or traditional items such as powdered sugar as snow, and run a fork through the frosting to make it look like an actual tree log. Then enjoy it with your family or friends during the night of the Solstice.


  • Make a Yule wreath. Gather any items of your choice and bring the energy of Yule into your home for the entire holiday season. Set your intentions for the New Year while making the wreath, and pick decorations that may represent those wishes for you.  Then on the night of the Solstice hang your wreath, either on a door, or somewhere in your home.   Then, on New Year’s day, return your wreath to Nature , either by offering it to the woods, or if you have an outdoor fire pit, maybe you would like to have a fire ceremony and allow the Universe and Mother Earth to receive your intentions and set them in motion for you in the New Year. If you decide to make an offering in the woods, be sure to include the trees in your offering. Trees have very special energy and are a traditional part of the Winter Solstice.


  • Story telling by candle light, or fire. This tradition comes from many cultures, but one of the most popular for the Winter Solstice comes from Celtic traditions by sharing the story of the legend of the Holly King and the Oak King. You can also choose to share stories about the winter, or past events that you have experienced during previous Winter Solstice celebrations, or sing Yule songs. What is important is that you and the ones you love gather by the light and be together. When you do this, you raise your vibrations and connect with the energy of the Solstice. You can also incorporate sound in your evening. Ring bells at the exact moment of the Solstice. This symbolizes the cycles of nature and honors the four directions. It also symbolizes wish granting, so be sure to make your Winter Solstice Wish while ringing your bell.


  • Prayer is very powerful and, as I mentioned before, there is something about the Winter Solstice where it is like prayers are accelerated and miracles happen. Through the power of prayer I received my Winter Solstice gift from the Universe. So, a prayer circle or ceremony happens to be my favorite! You don’t need anything special for this, just a candle of your choice. You can do this privately, or in a group and make it your own. Sit by the light of the candle or fire and pray. If you are doing this in a group, sit around the flame in a circle and hold hands if you feel inclined to do so. Pray for anything you want, there are no limits on what you can pray for or how many prayers you say.  In fact, the bolder the prayer the bolder the Universe, God and the power of the Winter Solstice can respond to that prayer for you.  This year, an amazing healer and I will be having a Winter Solstice prayer circle at The Sacred Space in Concord NH. Living a Life of Gratitude


What is the first thing you do as soon as you open your eyes each day? Do you start your day with something positive, or something negative? Each day we have the opportunity to start our day off in a positive way by expressing gratitude. Gratitude is really about expressing thankfulness for what we already have in our life. Living a life of Gratitude is something that you can teach yourself to include and, before you know it, you won’t even have to think about doing it anymore. You will just do it!

 Benefits of Gratitude include:

  • Improves sleep
  • Reduces anger and enhances Empathy
  • Creates higher self esteem
  • Improves both physical and emotional health overall
  • Creates better relationships
  • Opens you up to receiving positive energy exchanges
  • Creates a stronger connection with your faith
  • Allows you to change your perspective of the world around you


Living a life of Gratitude 21 Day Challenge:

A habit is formed in 21 days. So, why not form a positive habit to live a life of gratitude? You can do this in a group or individually. Participating in the challenge doesn’t require a special tools. The only requirement is a desire to make a positive difference in your life. Commit to the challenge, by just telling yourself you will do the best you can. Ideally, you would do something every day for the 21 days. But, if you miss a day here or there that is okay. As long as you are trying you are already succeeding in taking steps to live a life of gratitude.  Before starting the challenge, I want you to write a note to yourself that you will open on the 21st day of the challenge. You can write about what you hope to learn or become enlightened about on this 3 week journey. You can write what you would like to do as an expression of gratitude on the last day of the challenge, or a reminder of why you did the challenge, or the promise to continue to live a life of gratitude after the challenge. It can even be a thank you note to yourself for completing the challenge. The letter can include anything you want, it can be a sentence or a paragraph. Once you write it, seal it and place it somewhere safe and don’t open it until the last day of the challenge. Here are 21 ideas for how you can partake in this life changing challenge! You can do all of them, one of them or pick and choose the ones that work for the areas of your life. Remember the more you give of yourself to this journey the more you are going to get out of it at the end. What you do with it is up to you.

  • Keep a Gratitude Journal: For 21 days, keep track of all the things you are grateful for in your life. Then, at the end of the 21 days, review what you have written over the 3 weeks and watch how in that time you have received additional blessings in those areas.
  • Say thank you to a soldier
  • Express gratitude when a stranger does something nice for you like hold open a door, or allows you to go in front of them, then pass along that gratitude and do the same for a stranger.
  • Hold a 5 minutes or less gratitude session with yourself. By simply taking a few minutes a day to express your gratitude to yourself, God, Source, Universe, etc. you are keeping that positive exchange of energy increasing the overall wellbeing of your mind, body, spirt.
  • Create a Gratitude affirmation for something you are struggling with, and for 21 days recite the affirmation daily, and whenever you may be thinking about the problem.
  • Post only positive articles, photos, messages etc. on your social media for 21 days.
  • Say a Gratitude prayer daily. There are both really good religious and non-religious prayers available on the internet. The key is to pick the one that resonates with you the most. You can even just pray and praise God, Universe or Source for what is in your life.
  • Express thanks to the people in your life who make a positive impact.
  • Express Gratitude for something that didn’t go your way, only for you to realize that you had something better in store for you.
  • Pick a different topic for each day and express to yourself and others something you are grateful for regarding that topic. For example, health, wisdom, friendship, family, your spiritual path, etc.
  • Struggling Financially? Why not use the 21 days to create a more grateful attitude towards our finances. Instead of saying, how am I going to pay this, say “Universe/ God, thank you for providing this…”
  • Heard of Vision Board? Why not make a Gratitude Board! Take a poster board and place images of everything you are grateful for and look at it every day for 21days to remind you of all the wonderful things you have in your life.
  • Does music inspire you to have a grateful attitude? Make a playlist with your favorite tunes to listen to throughout the day to keep your mind and soul thankful.
  • Looking to create a better relationship with food? Expressing gratitude for the nutritious food you have access to before each meal will help you reinforce making healthy food choices to fuel your body and not feed your emotions.
  • If you are in a relationship, do the challenge together with your partner and, each day, share something about why you are grateful for the other person. Find unique ways to share the experience with your partner, through thank you cards, sticky notes, a note on a napkin they will see later in the day. Be creative and have fun with this one and watch how at the end of the challenge your relationship is that much stronger and you are able to express gratitude more easily with each other in a language you can both understand. You can also do this particular exercise with your children as well and engage them in process of expressing gratefulness.
  • Passing the gratefulness at dinner: If you would like to do a family event, have everyone before dinner go around the table, and express what they are grateful for that day.
  • Create a routine of when you first walk up in the morning, before your feet hit the ground, say thank you for the day you are about to have. Then, at the end of the night, while you are getting back in bed, express your thanks again for your day. Here is what I like to say in the morning, “ Thank you God for today, thank you for anointing me with health and allowing me to live today  the way you intend for my purpose.” Then at night, I simple restate “ Thank you God for today” then I continue with any evening prayers or things that happened during the day that I am grateful for.
  • Each day our body works hard for us. Yet, how often do we take time to thank it for all it does and not just except it to do what we need it to do. We often don’t realize we take it for granted until we get sick or it stops working at its optimum state. Spend time over the 21 days to thank your body for all it does for you and make a commitment to learn to listen to it better to create a stronger relationship with it so you can continue to be grateful for it far beyond the challenge.
  • Read a book about gratitude and look for ways that you can incorporate the methods you learn into truly living a life of gratitude. There are many books available online about gratitude. Go with your intuition with which one is the one you need.
  • Practice gratitude breathing during yoga, pilates, meditation or any other spiritual or physical exercise you may do. Here is a great article about gratitude breathing:
  • Make a gratitude jar. Have someone really special in your life? Why not write down 21 reasons why you love about them, why you are grateful for them, how amazing they are, and any words of encouragement and place it in a jar and give it to them. This will allow them to pull a small note of gratitude anytime they may need an emotional pick me up. These make great birthday, holiday and “just because” gifts!

There are many other ways that you can incorporate gratitude into your life. Get your friends and family involved in your challenge and watch the abundance overflow in your life, really placing perspective on what matters most in your life. As we enter into the month of November, we all tend to become more aware of what we are thankful for as the holidays approach. Autumn Equinox: Time to Harvest


“In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day… And God said, “Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years, and let them be lights in the dome of the sky to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. God made the two great lights – the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night – and the stars. God set them in the dome of the sky to give light upon the earth, to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.” – The Bible

The Autumn Equinox also known as Mabon brings balance back between the light and the dark. The Spring Equinox brings in balance of the light and the Autumn Equinox brings in balance of the dark. Both the light and the dark co-exists because of each other. The balance of the darkening of the sky gives us time to reflect on all that we are thankful for, to process all of the energy and knowledge we learned during the previous seasons of abundance, and how we can continue to integrate that throughout the changing of the season.

Autumn is a time of Harvest, and the Equinox is a time to fill up your spiritual basket. Think of the last 4 months of the year as a harvest period. You were growing and learning new things about yourself and your life purpose and manifested how you would reach that goal of living on your path. Perhaps you took an energy class or started to meditate, or learned about spiritual grounding. There may also be some lessons you learned along the way and patterns that you were finally able to alter. Look back at all those things you learned and decide which items you are going to put in your basket and carry with you down your life path. Sometimes it can be hard to release some of these items, and maybe some of the lessons involved co-workers, friends, or people from your past. When you continue to place those kinds of items such as energy from the past of someone you may have parted with earlier in the year, it is only going to weigh down your basket and make less room for another tool you may need. Spend the week around the Equinox visualizing your basket and what you want to move forward with. It is ok to put certain things in and then take them out and reorganize it as you go. You may think you are almost done and then find something you really want to take with you on the next phase of your journey. That means you have to take something else out. It is ok to let it go, and if you are simply not ready that is ok also. Bring it with you and know that when the time is right for you, you can remove it anytime you want.

Here are some other ways that you can celebrate the Autumn Equinox & Mabon:

  • Meditate: With the Energies of the season shifting, spending some time meditating can be a good way for you to bring some the balancing and harmonizing energies into your energy field. You can also use meditation as a way to help you decide what goes into your spiritual harvest basket.
  • Go Apple Picking: Apples are often a symbol of the fall season, and filled with many spiritual meanings. Spending some time harvesting the apples, connecting to something that grew from the earth will not only help clear your mind, and increase your spiritual energy. It will also help ground you. You can also work with the apples and incorporate them into your diet for the fall such as apple cider, apple pie, apple jam, apple butter, apple bread. The list goes on and on. Apples are truly a sign of harvesting so if including apples into your Equinox activities is something you decide to do, why not make it a celebration itself and make it a family or friends event as well.
  • Clear & Clean your space: Just like spring cleaning it is a good idea to do a fall cleaning. Not only is it a good idea to do a thorough cleaning session in your home, or office, but you will want to clear the energy in your space to. Using sage, sweetgrass, holy water, palo santo or any other smudging tool you may have will not only help break up any stagnate energy, but clear it away and help you raise the vibrations around you, truly making your environment ready for the changing of the seasons.
  • Participate in an Autumn Equinox Ceremony: An Autumn Equinox Ceremony can be a really fun way to participate in the magic of the season. It can also be a great family event. There are many kinds of ceremonies, from drumming circles, bonfires, blessing circles and so forth. Any kind of Autumn Equinox Ceremony will also help you raise your energetic vibration and jump start the blessings that the fall months have to offer.
  • Connect with Nature & Honor Mother Earth: There is something about the crisp air in the fall that brings in clarity and an oneness to the Earth. While spending time in nature, whether it be a walking trail, mountain, ocean or your back yard you are making a conscious effort to connect with the earth’s energy. A great way to honor that connection would be to leave an offering to the earth. Things like birdseed, acorns, sticks etc. are all good items to leave as an offering and express your thankfulness to Mother earth. They are also good items for the animals as they start to stock up for their hibernation period.

Above all this season, express your gratitude for the lessons and the blessings of the past seasons and all that you have learned and gifts you have been given by the Universe. September is the month of Universal Love, Life Purpose, Soul Mission and Higher Perspective. The Universe is really asking you to take the energy of the Autumn Equinox and begin to live a soulful life and step into your purpose. You are in a true season of Harvest and it is time that you learn to appreciate the dark just as much as the light. Without one or the other, how would we know the difference or learn to appreciate what we have.

Connecting to your Higher Self

hsWhat if there was one person who knew you in every lifetime you ever lived? They knew your purpose, your flaws and your deepest passions. And, they have been your best friend since the beginning of your soul. Well, there is such a person, your higher self! Your higher self is part of your soul and has been with you through the good and bad, every lesson and heart ache and joyous occasion you have ever experienced. One of the most powerful tools that you can develop at any stage in your spiritual path is to create a relationship with your higher self. Your higher self is your highest level of connection with the divine source and resides in your Etheric Body. Imagine your higher self as a direct link to universal information specifically related to you, your purpose and life path. It is your total soul consciousness. It knows everything about you from every lifetime you have ever lived and ever will including information on soul contracts and life plans. It is a constant part of your life that you can choose to incorporate into your everyday.

Each of us has a higher self, and we all have the ability to work with them, get knowledge and life answers from them. Our highest self has nothing but pure unconditional love for us, which means that nothing but love can exist within that relationship. So, when you are working with that element of yourself, it is important to know that you can trust the guidance and information that is given to you. Where there is pure love, there can be no fear. Therefore, there is no EGO involved when it comes to the workings of the highest self. All the information you receive is coming directly from a pure divine source.

Before connecting with your higher self, you should also be open to the fact that your highest self is neither male nor female, but a source that may present themselves to you as either male or female regardless of what gender you are in this lifetime. This means that a female in this lifetime can have a higher self that comes through as male and vice versa. Every human being has male and female energy that resides in our soul. For example, a male that is balanced with his male and female energy will have 60% male energy and 40% female energy roughly, and a female will have 60% female and 40% male energy. Our highest self resonates with all lifetime energies. So, if you are female in this lifetime and your higher self comes through as a male on a soul level you may find that your soul purpose and path has areas that you may need to work on that require more male energy traits. If you are a male in this lifetime and your higher self presents itself as a female, you may find your soul purpose is related to more female energy traits. Here are some traits of male and female energies that may help you relate better to your higher self form.

There are a few ways that you can learn how to connect and get to know your higher self, here is a list of some good options for beginning contact with them.

  1. Meditation/ Guided Meditation: This is my personal favorite method for connecting and working with your higher self. Meditation can be the most powerful and effective form to receive the information that is most important for you to hear at the time from your higher self. You will find that if you have some experience in meditation even as a beginner you will be able to do some journeying in your meditation work to meet with your higher self. If it is your first time ever contacting your higher self, you may find that a guided meditation specific for contacting your higher self may be a good way to start. Guided mediation is good because it walks you through the process and creates a safe positive environment for you to feel comfortable with contacting your higher self, allowing for an easier time contacting your higher self in the future. Journaling: This is a good method for keeping track of conversations that you may have with your higher self, as well as providing the opportunity to keep track of questions you may want to ask your higher self in future conversations. While writing in your journal you may also get insight from your higher self if you are advanced in contacting your higher self. This method will enable you to, go back and review any information your higher self may have given you that you may find helpful for other areas of your life path.
  3. Mindfulness: Being mindful is a conscious decision to be aware of yourself and your actions in the very moment that you are doing them. When you are mindful, you are creating a positive environment for a pure connection with your higher self. By being in the present moment you can allow the noise of your mind to become quiet and review choices you are making and how they affect you on all levels.
  4. Dreams: Just as we can receive visitations from past loved ones in dreams, we can receive visitations from our higher self. Setting the intention before you go to sleep to connect and receive information from your higher self will allow the communication to flow in your dreams. When trying to have conversations with your higher self in your dreams, you may want to set specific intentions for your communication in the dream. For example, perhaps you are having a hard time finding out what your life purpose is, or looking to change careers; those are good areas to tell your higher self you need guidance in for that particular dream.
  5. Spending time with yourself: Set time aside weekly to do a higher self check in, and what a better way than spending time with yourself. It can be 5 minutes, 30 minutes an hour or in between. But, during this time review the areas you are working on with your higher self. How are you integrating any information your higher self is giving you in to your life? How are the methods you are using working for you? How are you incorporating your higher self more in to your everyday, and where do you need adjustments? These are all questions that you can ask yourself during this time, plus any additional questions you see fit for your relationship with your higher self. By having weekly time, you will be able to track your progress and become more aware of all the layers of your soul, mental, physical and spiritual.

Your highest self will often present itself from other religions, races, light forms or ancient civilizations. Growing up I always related to various ancient civilizations that I thought for sure would have been represented when I meet my higher self. I was wrong! The first time I met my higher self was in a soul retrieval session. I was doing some journey work and came across a door that led me into one of the most beautiful rooms I had even seen. It was my inner temple that was filled with shades of reds, golds, purples, blues and so much more. Then, once I became open, my higher self made herself known. On a soul level, my spirit relates to Hinduism and appeared to me with her presence as such. I would never have expected my higher self to be of the Hindu persuasion.  But, as I learned more about that culture and my life path, I realized that it makes sense for my soul to resonate with Hinduism.

The best part about learning how to connect with your higher self is that each time you do, you will develop a deeper and deeper relationship. After a few times of using the method of your choice, you will be able to connect to your higher self within a moment. You will be able to visually and mentally go to your sanctuary where the two of you can talk and you can receive the inner wisdom you need. There are no rules on how many time you can contact your higher self, or what you can and cannot include your higher self in. Ideally you will want to connect with your higher self every day

Your higher self wants to connect with you and help guide you. So, now is the time to start forming that connection with the purest divine form of yourself and bring your level of Universal and Self understanding to the ultimate level.

Divine Meditation Tips & Techniques for Beginners

9b1e1758a451c45d0a82a8fd4dffbd5bMethods of mediation have existed since before 500 B.C. Meditation transcends gender, race, religion and age. The Dalai Lama once stated that, “If every 8 year old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world within one generation.” Meditation not only has health benefits of:

  • lower blood pressure
  • improved blood circulation
  • lower heart rate
  • slower respiratory rate
  • reduce anxiety
  • lower blood cortisol levels
  • more feelings of overall health
  • stress reduction
  • deeper relaxation

But, it can bring your soul a deep sense of overall happiness, spiritual enlightenment, a greater sense and connection with the Creator and the Universe. Meditation is a divine act within itself. When you choose to meditate, you are making a conscious decision to get out of your own head, and get connected to your higher self, God, Spirit Guides, Guardian Angels or all of them.

The beautiful thing about meditation is that any one of any age can do it; you do not need special training or anything other than yourself to engage in meditation. It is important that, when you meditate, you remain mindful to the best of your ability. If you are struggling with something in your life like love, family issues, health, business, career changes, and even financial worries, mediation can help you get clear divine answers. Most people I know, including myself, have one major potential problem when they meditate; falling asleep. This is very common, especially as a beginner. There is a fine line between a meditative state, and a sleep state. Don’t become frustrated if this happens to you. I am a big believer that if you fall asleep during your meditation it is for a reason. Many times certain energies can only integrate with your energy and body in a sleep state. Think of it as getting an energy update. Allow it to happen the way it is supposed to and know that you are receiving what you need at that time. You may even find that you receive your answers in your dreams. Once you create a mediation routine or know triggers in your life that would benefit from meditation, you will know that the answers are just some deep breaths away.

It may take some practice at first, but before you know it, you will be able to experience deeper meditations. Here are a few simple steps to begin your mediation practice.

  1. Find a place you feel safe, comfortable and can relax. This can be in your home, garden or a place you consider sacred.
  2. Set your intensions for the meditation session. What are you looking to receive answers to? If you are unsure, ask the Creator or the Universe to tell you what you need to know for the greatest good of your higher self.
  3. Decide if you are going to meditate with sound. There are many great options, for guided meditations, or meditation music with breaths. I personally happen to love the OM Life music by OmHarmonics.
  4. Get comfortable in your mediation space. You may find that you are most comfortable sitting or lying down. For beginners, I recommend sitting in the lotus position, or in a crossed legged sitting position. To know more about the lotus position, and examples, visit
  5. Close your eyes
  6. Start to breathe naturally. Start to remove the distractions in your mind and focus on your breath. Notice how your body moves with each inhale and exhale.  With each breath imagine yourself getting more and more connected to the divine.
  7. If your mind wanders, simply return your focus back to your breath. Focus on your breath for 2–3 minutes, and then reset your intensions for the session.
  8. Stay mindful and open to listening to what comes through for you once in your meditative state.
  9. When you believe your meditation session has come to end, slowly start to become more aware of your surroundings, and slowly awakening from mediation. Finally express your gratitude to the Creator, Universe or who you worked with during your mediation.

There is no set time for the duration of mediation other than the restrictions that you place on it. Allow the divine to provide you the time you need in order to receive the answers you seek. Once you become more experienced you will find that you can achieve a meditative state and the clarity you need in as little as 10 minutes. You may find that when you first start out, you may only meditate for 2 -3 minutes and that is ok. As you progress, the length of time will expand.

Just make sure that when you set the time aside to meditate you can fully dedicate yourself to it without being interrupted.

Trust the messages that you receive during your mediation session and trust that they are coming from a purely divine source. It is easy to forget what you experience during your sessions. So, I recommended writing down the your experience, what answers or guidance your received, and how you felt physically and spiritually. Did you feel energy, or visually see images in your mind; could you feel a divine presence? Keep track of these items so you can revisit them later on. It will help you tremendously especially if you are mediating on an issue you plan on doing a lot of work with, such as a health issue, relationship, or life purpose. If writing is not something that comes easily for you, you can always use the voice recorder feature on any smart phone and document your experience that way.

When you embark on your mediation journey, you are making a choice to improve your mind, body and spirit. Make the experience your own, and do what feels right for you, because that is exactly what you are supposed to be doing. Be mindful, listen and embrace the time with the higher source energy.

Perspective of Peace

Peace is a concept recognized around the world. Everyone tries to attain it, countries desire it, humans aspire for it, and probably every living creature prays for it.  So, why can it seem so hard to achieve at times? Peace is often defined as freedom of disturbance, or a period of harmony. But, who gets to decide when you are in your period of peace and why do people feel they have a say on how you attain it and how you live in peace?

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Chuang Yen Monastery in Carmel, NY, which is home to the largest indoor Buddha in the Western Hemisphere. Standing 37 feet tall, the incredible Buddha statue gives off an overwhelming feeling of peace that can bring you to tears. This had me thinking about the Buddha’s life. Growing up as a Prince and having everything he could ever dream of, he was unaware of the struggles of the other people living outside the palace gates.  Once he saw that not everyone experienced life with the luxury he did, he embarked on his journey to enlightenment. He experienced many practices where people had said that he could attain inner peace and enlightenment. Following the path that was true for him, it was under the Bodhi Tree where he finally experienced his awakening. He then went on to teach. Buddha experienced challenges and even had to change his course along the way, much like all of us have had to do at one point or several in our lives. It is when we find our own inner peace that we can view ourselves, others, and our surroundings differently that helps us reach our version of an awakening much like Buddha had.

Personally, I believe that we go through many awakenings and moments of enlightenment during our life time. These moments can come at any different phase of our life and can be related to health, love, career, family and so forth. When we become awakened to part of our inner purpose, we often find ourselves in a transitional period to make sure that all other areas of our life match our newly awakened selves. As part of this transition, we will seek out more peace in our lives and will do whatever we can to create a peaceful environment around us. A major part of this transition deals with reviewing relationships specifically with friends and family. It is very common that while on your spiritual path, you experience a really good relationship cleanse. You will find that friends you use to be really close with and spend time with are suddenly no longer compatible with your beliefs, or you can no longer relate to them.

Sometimes many people who are close to us, or have known us all of our lives will have a hard time accepting this new peaceful you. Remember that change is scary for most people so when you change, people around you experience change. Most of the time, our loved ones are used to us being a certain way and doing things they think we love to do. However, when those habits suddenly change they can question why and unintentionally make you doubt your choices. A few years ago, I decided to stop drinking any kind of alcohol. I had maybe less than 10 drinks a year so it wasn’t really a hard thing for me to do. But, other people, mostly friends, took my decision personally. Suddenly, people assumed I wasn’t fun to go out with in social settings anymore or they looked at me differently because of my choice. The thing was though that is was my choice, and it was something that brought peace to my life with or without the approval of others, because the only approval I needed was my own. It can be hard to hear criticism or comments but as long as you know what brings peace into your life, no one can take that away from you unless you let them.

Give this transition some time while everyone adjusts, including yourself. The relationships that you are supposed to continue and develop will deepen and your loved ones will cherish you more than they did, and vice a versa. If someone doesn’t support this part of you, simply give thanks to the universe for the opportunity to learn from them and then release yourself and that person from the relationship. This can be very difficult to do with friends and family. But, it will allow both of you to continue to learn, grown, and follow your individual paths. This is one of the best gifts you can give to someone you care about.

From a different perspective, once you experience enlightenment it can be challenging to see others not living a lifestyle of personal peace. It is important to remember that peace is attained differently for different people and we all experience it at different times in our life. Something you may have done in your life that brought you more peace will not be what a friend or loved one needs to do in their life. Just the way that we expect someone not to judge us for our choices, we cannot judge someone for something they decide to continue to do in their own lives. It is not your burden to carry. We may want to see the ones we care about living the very best lives they can and have them experience the joy that peace has brought us, but in this moment in time they are where they are supposed to be and living the best life they can for today. Once you can shift your perspective of peace, you may just find that you experience more freedom from disturbances and more periods of harmony than you originally thought.

Once that peace is attained, it is staying in that peace, and living in peace that then becomes a new journey we all must embark upon. “We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.” – Buddha

You know that little voice in our head, that says all the things like; “I am not worthy of this love,” “I look fat,” “I am ugly,” “I am not good enough,” “I will never reach my dreams,” “I am too old to try something new” and all those other horrible thoughts that fill our head. This is the ego at work! This little voice can spend day after day after day keeping us in this lower energy space. Making us believe that we are all the things it says. Have you ever had a disagreement with a friend, and for days it is all you can think about. You replay the conversation over and over and over again. You have fake fights with them in your head, and act out what you would say and what they would say and think about it all day long. Think about how many times you have done this… Now think about how many hours you spent feeding your ego with all that negative energy. I do not say this to scare you or frustrate you. But, think of all the better things you could be doing with you time instead of fighting, really, with yourself instead of encouraging yourself.

Whether spiritual or not, everyone struggles with their ego. There are many sayings for what the ego means, but my favorite is “Edging God Out”.  When you spend all day engaging in your ego and what you can’t do and what others think about you, you are not focused on God and what He meant for you to do that day. Each day you have on Earth is for a reason, and it is not so you can worry, or live in fear. Each day when you wake up, before you even get out of bed, set your intention for the day. Ask God to let you live that day the way that He intended for you. Even the most spiritually enlightened people struggle with ego on a daily basis (with the exception of a few like the Dalai Lama for example), so don’t be too hard on yourself when you find yourself having to work at this on a daily basis. When you make an effort, even a small one, you shift your mindset to what is really important, building your relationship with God, your purpose, and learning your authentic self.

When your ego is having a “garbage filling session,” as I like to call it since it fills your mind up with muddy waste and not reality, it can be hard to realize that this is your ego and not your higher self.  Many people can get the two confused when having conversations with themselves. Imagine it this way, ego is dark, it only exists in a state of fear and is the farthest things from the Divine that can be experienced. Your ego wants to see you fail, it wants you to believe that you do not matter,  that all those goals you have cannot be accomplished and it will feed you nonsense everyday if you keep listening to it and living in that fear.  Then, there is your highest self, it is made of pure light and love. Your higher self is going to encourage you and tell you what you need to do to reach those goals because you are destined for them. It will help you attain self-love, and bring peace and calmness to your mind of worries. So, if your mind is bringing you down, making you feel anything less than a deserving worthy loving being, you are dealing with your ego.

I personally struggle with my ego almost every day, as most of us do.  My weak point is when I think someone is upset with me, not that we should care, but we all do. I dwell on this for days, from the moment I wake up in the morning until I fall asleep, and sometimes even in my dreams. I replay conversations, or conversations I want to have, thought I should have, or any conversation I think will help resolve the issue. But, my ego just keeps making me more upset about the situation. This tends to happen to me more with my “Teachers”. These are the people who were sent to my life to help me grow, but in the meantime push every button I have and drive me absolutely crazy in the process and always have me in a state of doubting myself and being fearful. We all have them, so I know you can relate to who yours are as well. I think I have worked through a lesson, and then it sneaks back in and my ego starts filling my head back up with all these fears and lies again. When this happens here is what I say, and maybe it will help you as well. “Ego, I am not entertaining you today! I have already worked through this (fear, situation, lesson, argument, person, etc.). If you want to go talk to someone about it, go talk to God, because I am done talking to you about it.” Sometimes this works for a few minutes, and sometimes the whole day, but if you say it enough, your ego will start to realize that it is not going to win. It will give you one heck of a fight, but you can overcome it. Every time you take the power away from the ego, it gets weaker and you get stronger.

When you stop feeding the ego with more fear, it will be an easier process, and you will be able to walk in your path, have a better relationship with yourself and God. You will also find that your relationships improve with loved ones, family, and friends when they are based in love and not fears. So remember, when you find yourself facing your ego, let it know that you choose to not live in the fear, but in the light. Say it out loud if you have to from a mountain top, or scream it into a pillow but release it. You may be finding yourself filled with negative thoughts, but one positive thought is hundreds of times more powerful. So, just shift it a little and say a positive thought and you will find yourself living in harmony with your higher self and your divine source.  Look for more posts on the ego in the future, as there is so much to say about it, and various aspects to cover. Until then have patience with yourself and implement a process that helps keep your mind on the light.

Recognizing Divine Signs


Have you ever been missing someone that is no longer with you? Or perhaps it is a really big day for you and you want to know that your loved ones are there with you in some way. Look around you, because our love ones are still communicating with you. We have all heard the expression “signs are everywhere,” and well, they are.  The divine are constantly sending us messages through signs, symbols, repeat numbers, music and even television. There are no chance encounters with these signs, every small act is planned and executed when we need it the most. Common signs from Heaven include Butterflies, Cardinals, Dragonflies, Flowers and so much more. This is a really fun topic, and once you start noticing and opening yourself up to this concept a few things will happen:

  • You will create an increased relationship with your loved ones that have passed
  • You will strengthen your faith
  • You will begin to awaken spiritual knowledge within you
  • You will realize that what seems impossible is possible
  • You will be able to get answers to your prayers and get advice from your loved ones
  • You will increase your connection to the Universe
  • You will become more aware of your surroundings
  • You will open yourself up to amazing experiences
  • You will find comfort and faith in your soul like never before

Personally, I love looking for my signs from above; I have key symbols and numbers from my guides and loved ones, and even God that I try to look for every day. For example, when I first started connecting to my main guide, he asked me what I wanted my sign from him to be. This would be something just between us that he could send me to know that he was with me, guiding me and protecting me from above. Or, it could be a reminder that I wasn’t alone, or that I was on the right path. I did end up picking something just between us, and whenever I see it, I know that my guide is with me. Signs can be delivered in many ways. It is a matter of keeping your eye out, being observant within your current environment, and that you are in and being present in your surroundings. I would like to approach this in two ways for you. Perhaps you already know the first. It is being aware of what your signs from above are. The second is taking a new fun approach and building your divine awareness with signs and symbols.

Divine signs are one of many ways that your love ones communicate with you. But you must learn to recognize them. For example, let’s say that your grandfather passed away, and he really had thing for trains. Riding on them, collecting them, talking about them, they were one of his most favorite things. Since he has passed, you have started to notice trains everywhere you look or go. This is a sign! So you now know that trains are your sign from your Grandfather. That person is going to start sending you trains everywhere you look.  In fact, you may start thinking that there is no way that this is possible because you will literally start seeing them everywhere and there is no way that they can be sending you that many signs or love from above. It is very possible. In fact you will notice that when a loved one passes, you will see more and more signs almost every day. This is going to help you get through the transition of they’re having physically left Earth. But, know that you can still have that relationship with them.

Depending on your relationship with that person, you may get signs every day for the rest of your life, or a variety of times a week, or every now and then. Let me make it clear, that the frequency that you receive the signs has nothing to do with how much the person on the other side loves you or is thinking about you. Some people can simply not comprehend signs everyday so when they see it here and there it is a nice reminder for them and the concept can be processed on a mindful level. The other reason is that as humans we can often miss what is right in front of our faces.  We could see our signs every day but not be paying attention to the details of our surroundings to notice.  Life events are a little different in the spirit world. Say you are getting married, having a child, or a grandchild, or facing important decisions, spirit will place the sign in your face so you cannot miss it. So, know that when it matters the most, when you really need it, you will never miss the sign meant for you. I remember about 8 years ago I was going through some transitions in my life, and I kept praying and asking God for signs on what to do, and they were shown to me. When they were not what I wanted to hear, I would ask for another one and so on and so on. This happened about eight times and every time God sent me the same sign but bigger and bigger every time. Finally, I got the point and listened!

Sometimes, your signs may be delayed, but you will always get them. For 9 years, my mother had put a special bell on our family Christmas tree, with the intention that my uncle would ring the bell. Years went by, and every year she would put the bell on and ask him to ring it, and years went by where that did not happen, but my mother never lost faith that someday that bell would ring! Our family all knew about Uncle Dick’s bell on the Christmas tree. In 2012, my family and I had just finished opening presents Christmas morning, and it really had been a special Christmas. We were all sitting there looking at each other, and THE BELL RANG!!! Not just a little either he made sure we were all together and we all heard it. We all looked and each other and then all the girls started to cry.  The sign was delivered and the moment was perfect and something we will all remember for a very long time. And every year that bell goes on the Christmas tree for the next time Uncle Dick wants to ring the bell.

Now let’s look at a fun way to work with divine signs. Let’s say that you don’t know what signs to look for. When I was first stepping into my mediumship abilities spirit used to play this game with me, wherein I had to search for the signs each day. During my morning meditation, spirit would give me an animal, or object that I had to be on the lookout for that day. This was a way of us building trust with each other. Spirit would say something like “Today you will see a dragon.” So all day I would be on the lookout for a dragon. I would listen for it to be brought up in conversation, the news, TV, magazines. It was like a treasure hunt, where was the dragon? Each day I would find my symbol. Then, at the end of the day, I would look up the spiritual meaning of the day’s sign. It was always relevant to what I had going on in my life. Personally, I love this website for spiritual meanings: .  If you have the gift of mediumship, I encourage you to play this with your guides and spirits as well. Even if you do not have a direct verbal way of communicating to your loved ones or guides, you can still play this game. Instead of spirit telling you what to look for, you can ask sprit to send you what would like to see. In the morning while you are getting ready for your day, say “spirit, please show me a sign today in the form of a lady bug.” Then all day watch for your lady bug.

Once you start seeing your signs, you will start to notice how important the universe thinks you are. Yes the Universe and God really do care that much about all of us individually. When you start opening yourself to seeing the signs, all kinds of amazing experiences will start to happen for you. And, you will start connecting with your loved ones in ways you didn’t think were possible. You will learn to trust your signs. I know that is the hardest part for all of us to do. Even myself, as I was writing this, spirit wanted to play the sign game. Spirit said you will see a dolphin today. I was like are you sure, it is 8:30pm. Never underestimate sprit when they want to send you a sign. About a half hour later I climbed into bed and went to see what was on TV.  As I was flipping through the channel guide, I came upon the Discovery Channel special and the topic. You guessed it right! It was called “Dolphins, spy’s of the pod.” I just laughed and smiled and thanked spirit for continuing to send me beautiful and amazing signs.

When you start to keep your eyes open to the divine, life will make a little more sense. Your soul will be comforted on a level that only the divine could create and you will be open to other levels of increasing your spiritual connections. So, keep looking for your signs as they come in all forms. Pick up the magazine that is calling your name and look through every page, watch the commercials, listen for your bell to ring and connect with your loved ones, angels, and guides. Remember signs are everywhere! So all my family, friends, and strangers who may be reading this post and need a pick me up, may your April be filled with Butterflies, Dragonflies, Oranges, Rainbows, Feathers, Hawks, Bluebirds, Herons, Roses and all your other amazing signs.

Accepting the Process

abd98a6c-ee32-4f37-87d1-12ddf599c358In this life, we all have challenges, additions, aliments, relationship issues (romantic or otherwise), suffered the death of a loved one and shifting personal perspectives that we will have to work on and overcome to the best of our ability. Personally, I have dealt with all of these in this lifetime (as many of us have). I have come to realize that, when we are in those moments of despair, sadness, illness, and this utter feeling of being alone that no one else can understand, we are still exactly on the path we are supposed to be. It is during that time when your soul does the best searching, healing and can awaken parts of you that you did not know existed.  Every experience aids you in becoming who you are, good, bad or indifferent. It affects who we are and who we become. When you surrender to it, accept it and recognize that you do not have to understand why; that is when you will see the blessings behind the experience.

Most of my life, I have been a medical mystery. As a child, I got all the really weird things that doctors either hadn’t seen or could not diagnose. Some diagnoses were overlooked because of my young age. When I was a teenager, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. The funny thing about those is no one knows why a person gets it, or what causes it to act up. Over the course of my teenage and young adult life I dealt with the disorder as best I could. To complicate the matter, the primary treatment was a specific drug classification to which I happened to be allergic.  I was forced to seek alternative therapy. Over 16 years, I had been and seen it all with this disorder from one extreme to the other while facing surgery to a miraculous healing and staying in remission for 10 years. In those 10 years other challenges peeked through like difficult relationships, death and my own mind. Last year, the symptoms returned with vengeance after 10 years in hibernation. It was like the revenge of the autoimmune system. It got so bad, that I spent a few weeks in the hospital and while I was there I remember talking to God and asking the famous question. “why?” That was all I wanted to know, why this was happening again, why did I have to have this, hadn’t I been through enough, why, why, why, I didn’t understand! We all ask those questions, and we all go through times when we question God’s actions and his love for us. I had a direct connection to his answers, and I still wasn’t getting an answer. I had to take almost 6 months of disability from my full time job, to get to a point where I wasn’t fighting with my body. Over those six months, every day was a process and every day I had to argue with my mind that was over the illness, and my body that had other plans. The body is a mysterious form of our selves. If you are not paying attention to it, even when it screams at you, it will shut you down faster than you can blink your eyes. Most of my life I never really liked to ask for assistance with something or admitting that I could not do something or handle a situation. When you are sick you have no choice but to start asking for help. I was so weak, that I couldn’t drive, I couldn’t go grocery shopping, or perform everyday activities. I had reached the point where I had stopped demanding answers and surrendered to whatever its was going to be. I had fought the fight. I had prayed and prayed and asked for a divine healing, I believed anything was possible and that one day I would wake up and just be all better. The thing was is I wasn’t done learning what I needed to on this particular journey.

When you have that much time on your hands you do a lot of thinking. I learned a lot over the 6 months of the healing crisis and the 6 months after that it took me to really readjust back to life and the life that I now know. It is easy for me to say this now, but had I not experienced that I would have missed out on some pretty big lessons and healings that needed to take place in order for me to become who I am today. Once I finally understood that I didn’t need to know why, but know that there was a reason and I just had to accept the process, I realized that I had learned the following:

  • Self-Patience & Listening to your body: You can go your whole life and think you have patience and you very well may. But I bet the patience is for everyone else except for yourself. Self –patience is one of the biggest challenges I have ever had to learn. It is a hundred times harder than patience for another person. Prior to this experience I did not listen to my body. I took it for granted. I would push it harder when it said it was tired. When I was sick, I was in denial. I would pretend when it was sick like it wasn’t, I would feed it things less than it deserved. I had taken it for granted on numerous occasions and I didn’t understand how quickly it could take me down. Since then, I began to understand the relationship that we have with our body on a much different level. You have to treat it kindly. When it tells you it is tired lay down and rest. When you bleed stop and take time to heal. You have a connection with yourselves that only you can understand. Sometimes you are faced with choices about you and your health on a spiritual, physical or mental level and only you can be your best advocate. Work with your body and fight for it and not against it. It will take you a lot farther that way. No matter what you are facing, you need your body to be on your side. You need to allow yourself to go through the process of emotions and have patience with yourself as you work through the fear, doubt, grief, loss, shame and challenges. When we lose someone or separate from someone, our whole body feels it and aches. We lose our appetite and forget to care for ourselves because in certain moments we can’t. Allow it to process, but remember to listen and treat your body just as kindly as you treat your soul.
  • Humbleness: Being humbled is often a strong lesson for most of us. We all have a hard time asking for help. We have our life organized, and have a schedule for activities, then life intervenes and we need help. We have all been there, when someone you know or love says if you need any help, or if there is anything you need, let me know. There will come a day when you may have to take someone up on that offer. There is no shame in asking for help with something when you are truly in need of it. I had family members helping me with my laundry. I had neighbors checking if I needed things from the store, friends dropping off reading material or just coming to spend an hour visiting, and I had people who wouldn’t treat me like I was fragile. That is just as important when you are in the struggle. You do not want to allow the struggle to be the only thing you are, or how others define you. Accepting that you do not have to do everything, be everything or go everywhere yourself can really enhance the type of relationship you have with yourself and with the people you have in your inner circle.
  • What Matters: When you have a life changing experience, you take time to reflect on what really matters in your life. You do a life review, who you want to stay in your life, who maybe has served their purpose in your life. The important thing to realize is that nothing is a waste in your life. If you loved someone and then it didn’t work out, or you spent all your life loving someone and then they passed away, the point is that you loved them. Not everyone knows love, and that love was for a reason, maybe it was a lesson in ways that you didn’t know you could love, or was a stepping stone to a great love. Point is, it mattered, and there was a divine reason behind it. Sometimes it is hard to, what I call, transition back into life when you have experienced something that changes your perspective on life. If it is loss, you wonder how life can be the same without that person. If you are sick and then healthy, you can find yourself annoyed at the little things people complain about or take for granted. If you separate from a partner, you can wonder if that was the best there was for you, was all that time wasted, and whether you will love again. In every circumstance, there are unanswered blessings behind the reason. Maybe you had to leave the person you were with so you could find your soulmate. Maybe you had to learn new things about yourself. Or, maybe you had to get sick so you value your health. Even in loss there is an unseen blessings that can occur. Your support system may change from an experience or challenge. Perhaps someone you thought would be there wasn’t, and maybe you realized just how much someone loves you when you needed their support the most. Once you are done and out of the shadows you will find the rocks that get you through and strengthen you on the new part of your journey. In this world, you matter, your experiences matter and the love you share with another person matters on any level. When you love you never lose anything, that love always comes back to you. Maybe it comes back through another person, a pet, a friend, a moment or maybe the love you share with your partner grows stronger. But, you experience meaningful love along your journey, and love always finds its way back to you in many forms.
  • Direction: I had started my business a year or so before I had gotten sick. I knew it was the direction I was supposed to take, but I wasn’t all in. I had still been wavering back and forth, not sure if I was ready to fully step into my spiritual path. Well, after spending 6 months thinking about what I was doing, and I started moving forward in my spiritual direction. See, part of the reason why I had fallen ill was because I wasn’t stopping to think about where I was going, specifically in regards to my career. I knew a year earlier that Spiritual Consulting was my purpose, Medium readings, life paths, spiritual healing messages, and yet I wasn’t really working at it. I had all these things in place but was missing my motivation. Well God took me out of the corporate environment for 6 months and said “HERE, what do you really want now?” Do you want to do your life purpose or do you want to go back to not following your divine direction. Had I not faced that challenge when I did, I would have just had a blog for my business with one entry, I wouldn’t have my website done, or a client base ,or really thought about what kind of additional services I wanted to offer. Honestly, I am not sure I would have given the right guidance to my clients at the time either as I do now, because I understand more at a soul level what our life journey is about. I had literally been through my own version of hell and resurrected up from the ashes like a Phoenix. That experience made me better at understanding and being there spiritually for the people who come to me for spiritual guidance.
  • God will get you through: “But they that wait upon the Lord Shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31, KJV) Even when you think, “there is no way I can come back from this, there is no way I can love again, there shows no hope in my medical diagnoses.” God is there holding your hand and you are surrounded in his love. Some people think God is too busy, I don’t want to bother him with this or that, I know because I used to be one of them. I figured there were far too many things more important than whatever I had going on. Well Spirit knows no time, God is everywhere at the same time, I can’t explain how, just that he is, and that he personally cares about you. Every cut, broken heart, laugh, tear or smile God is there. The only way you can truly make it through something, is having faith. Even if you have issues with God or view your faith in a different manner, or you believe in something that is a higher source than you are. Form that bond, strengthen your relationship with that source, rely on it, depend on it, know that it will get you through anything, because when your faith runs low, God will have faith for you.

So, let’s say that you have accepted the process, you have done everything you have been told to do. You made lifestyle changes, you took classes that were going to enhance your skills that are related to your life path, you took your medicine religiously, you opened yourself up to other people like you never have, but then boom, you get a setback.  Setbacks may happen, but do not let them take away any of the work you have already accomplished or whatever illness  you have overcome. This year, 5 months after I had gotten off from the medication that had been keeping me in remission, I woke up one morning and my symptoms were been back. No warning, no easing in, just back. Immediately my mind went for the worst. I thought, “oh here we go again, I can’t do this anymore.” I begged and pleaded and prayed and prayed to not deal with this again. I asked over and over why, why again? Well as it turned out even after all I had learned there was still some learning to be done. I had worked through the healing and the layers and the emotions that had gone along with the illness, but energetically the symptoms were the pattern that was getting my attention.  So, I had to get a game plan together. I told the Universe that this was not the way to get my attention anymore, and worked out a new way that was gentler. Once I did this, the symptoms went away and I was once again living in harmony with my body. When life throws you a setback, assess the situation. I know it will be hard. But, to NOT go directly go to that place in your mind, that place that sets you back more. This is especially important when you are going through transitions or major energetic releases or releasing patterns. The Universe may do a spiritual check-in, meaning every now and then after or before a transitional period, the Universe will throw a little old in the mix, just to make sure you really want to continue with the new things coming into your life. Once you come to an agreement with the Universe you will be back on track and enjoying your new enlightenment.

“Accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be.” -Sonia Ricotti.  The Most important thing to remember is, everything we face in this world has its reasons. Although they may seem unjust at the time, they often accelerate us to where we need to be. We may not always get to know why or what the reasoning is, what blessings will come from heart ache, illness or loss, but sometimes not knowing is part of the process. We have to accept the parts along the way that make up who we become. Even though it may be a challenging road, accept it. Be thankful. But, understand at the same time this is not your weakness or your challenges that define you. It is how you continue to grow and become closer to your own divine self that embodies your enlightenment. Accept the process, find the patience for yourself, become humbled, know what matters most in your life, find your direction and know that, above all, God will get you through it.
