This month, I wanted to do something very different. This past month, the power of prayer has been very real inside of me. I know that some days have been hard this year so far for many of us. If we are honest, maybe you have had many hard years up until now. You have the opportunity to let all those hard times go and step into your destiny. Close your eyes, play this song, and let it make everything better, because I promise you, it has the power to. Try and do this every day for June.

Working Through Patterns & Ego

Many of us have been experiencing a visitation of old patterns that are no longer serving us. Think of our energy field as a piece of technology. Every once and awhile they need a reboot or an upgrade of some kind. That is what is happening right now in many ways for humanity. Working through old patterning and the Ego can feel very challenging. The first step in this process, as it is in many circumstances, is recognizing that you have a problem! Then, once you realize that you do, it seems like the Ego knows it is in trouble and starts working overtime to keep you in the form of fight or flight to keep you fear based. Let’s be honest; it is not easy to try and shift from fear based to loved based. It will take time, and it will take hard work to get yourself in a space where the Ego does not guide or control you.

Often, once you start making those shifts and the changes necessary to move into the heart based, the Ego will start working overtime for its survival. It can start telling you stories in your mind to move you away from the path ahead. The Ego can want you to stay in the past and play the victim card or the what if game over and over in your mind. The storytelling is one thing that can be a challenging pattern to stop because most people don’t even know that they are doing it. Here are some symptoms of your Ego telling you stories:

  • Do you often think people are upset with you even though you have not talked to them recently and the last conversation you had with them was pleasant?
  • Do you play out situations in your mind of things that haven’t even happened in your life and have arguments with another person or finding yourself justifying your thoughts or actions to that person in your mind?
  • Do you blame other people for certain things in your life in which they had no involvement?
  • Do you constantly feel stuck in the past? Or, are beating yourself up for things that you did when you didn’t even know better in life? Have you been able to move past that and forgive yourself for the things you didn’t know when you didn’t know them?
  • Do you make up non-existent circumstances or situations that are negative in your life, but, believe them as truth?

While there are more ways that the Ego can tell you stories and keep you from moving forward in areas of your life, if you have done any of those things, then congratulations, you are not alone. As Humans, we have many patterns that we work on or in which we are stuck. This includes ancestral patterning, limiting beliefs and old programming to name a few. At this moment in time, I believe that the first step of stopping and healing these patterns is to stop the Ego from telling stories. So how do you do that?

The first step is acknowledging that you tell yourself stories. Then, you have to, in many ways, re-train your brain and your energy. So, when you feel yourself going down the rabbit hole of unwanted stories you can shift and stay in reality. I will tell you that this will take some time. Telling ourselves stories is fear based and not reality. When we are experiencing that moment of fear, it feels very real! Most likely, once you break yourself of your Ego telling you a certain set of stories, the Ego will most likely grab a new book of stories. I know it can be incredibly frustrating to work through this particular pattern. The best thing that you can start doing is, when you find yourself beginning to have story time, to tell your mind and your Ego that you aren’t telling stories today. Sometimes you will have to say “Sorry Ego, story time is closed today!” It may push back, but remember that you too can push back. In the past when my Ego has been in its storytelling abilities, I have had to tell my Ego to go and talk to God about it, because I had already discussed it with Him and I didn’t have time to talk to my Ego about it. You are going to have to do this more than once. But, you will eventually retrain this particular Ego pattern. Here is another helpful tool. Upon waking in the morning, set a mantra or affirmation for your day, and ask whatever higher energy you believe in God, Source, Universe, etc. to fill you with strength and allow you to be the best version of yourself that you can be for that day. Forgive yourself and have patience with yourself through this process. You can do it!! You are not the story your Ego tells you.

When Reflection Turns To Growth…

Changing Seasons Of Mysterious Woodland

Life… It can often be very complex, confusing, difficult and yet amazing, exciting and a blessing. Sometimes all of the above happen within the same day. As humans, we fluctuate our energy with the earth, and with others around us. Without the downs in life, we wouldn’t be able to appreciate the joy of the up’s and vice versa.  Over the last year and a half, it seems like both as individuals and as humanity in general, we have been pushed to the edge and asked to trust in a higher source to guide us on our path. That, however, can be hard to do. Years ago, I knew a retired priest, and I asked him, “If Jesus Christ came back to Earth, what do you think would happen?” At the time, that seemed like a very logical question. As a child, I worried about the end of days. Now, as an adult, it doesn’t have the same effects on me. So what did the priest say, you may be asking… He said “I think the same thing would happen. Not crucified, in public like before, but no one would believe him to be Jesus so that he would be persecuted again.” His answer perplexed me for so many years, and in many way it still does. As humans we can have a pattern to mistrust people. I think that may come from fears of not trusting ourselves in many ways.

Over the past month, I have noticed many people, myself included, almost doing a life review. I think there is something about the winter that brings people to reflect. Also as things around us have to die to transform, and that is often how our energy works. We have to be willing to let go and allow things about ourselves to die in a way. Old limiting beliefs. One of my least favorite limiting beliefs is my inability to forgive myself for things I didn’t know 20 years ago. How dare I have the audacity to not have an additional 20 years of wisdom when I was only a teenager? Sometimes it feels like we are constantly trying to work through something. The Human body, energy etc, is like an onion, there is always another layer to be worked out.

Maybe you spent years working through a physical issue only to find out it was an emotional issue with also left an energetic footprint. It can be so frustrating sometimes to work through all these things and feel like you are always so close to the finish line. As I mentioned before, winter is often considered a time of reflection in many ways. Without removing all the things that are no longer serving you, there is no room for all the things you are trying to create. A lot is changing in the world over the next two years. The Universe is asking you right now, do you what to continue to be untrusting of anything and everything? Or, perhaps you want believe that you are being guided every day by a higher source. Even though, believe it or not, I have my trust issues sometimes in life, I do know one thing. The Divine comes through when you need them. It may not be the way you want them to, or expect them to. But, your blessing will always be delivered to you.  So where are my top 5 things that I have learned in my own reflection time so far this year that has led to my personal growth that will perhaps help you in yours.

  1. If you are feeling unworthy of blessings in your life, or that you are not good enough in some way, STOP. Come to a place within yourself that the Creation, GOD, Universe, whatever you believe in, made you exactly how you are meant to be. From every freckle, scar, wrinkle, etc they are all battle wounds. You are perfect just being you. Only you can truly help yourself feel worthy by coming to terms with the fact that you may have your moments of imperfection. But, that is what makes you perfectly you and perfectly worthy of being you. Sometimes when I am feeling all the normal human feelings of myself and the world, and it can seem overwhelming, I talk to GOD. I ask him “what are you going to do with me?” His response… “love you”. Meaning, GOD will always love you just as you are, unconditionally.
  2. In life, we will all play the would a, sould a, could a game. Trust me, forgive yourself and move on. 99.9% of the time the stuff you are worried about won’t matter in 2 years.
  3. If you want to having truly good relationships in your life, you must first have a good relationship with yourself. Without that, you will be unable to accept the love offered by others. Life can be a hall of mirrors sometimes, and that hall of mirrors can be your worst nightmare. If something keeps reflecting at you, do yourself a favor, don’t require the other person to change, simply do some of the work and change it within yourself. It won’t always be easy, but it will be worth it. This goes for any relationship in your life, co-workers, family, friends, romantic, etc.
  4. If you start building the trust relationship with yourself, you will start seeing how you trust in others, as well as GOD, Universe, the Divine. Just take one day out of the week. For that one day, ask GOD, your Guides, Source energy to lead you. Trust your intuition just for that day and see what happens.
  5. I spent a lot of time thinking about the question that I asked the priest so many years ago about his thoughts on Jesus. Without getting into too much religion, for the sake of my findings, I am going to approach it from the Holy Trinity of the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and combine them in the word God. Here are my thoughts about that. God is everywhere and in everything. God is love, God is peace, God is the air, God is the silence, God is the person asking for help. God is within you. God is within me. Yes, there are people and things in this world that sometimes make it very difficult to trust or keep faith in humanity. But, there is still goodness and kindness in the world. When you see acts of kindness, that is God, that is Jesus, that is whatever faith you believe in showing you the works of a higher source, and that, you can always trust. The Divine will never lead you down the wrong path. It may take you awhile to get where you need to go, but you will always be there exactly when you need to.

As a new season is approaching, the trees, plants, animals are going to begin to grow, bloom and play. You will find yourself coming out of your state of reflection and be able to see your growth that took place. Remember it is not a sprint, but a marathon. You WILL get to where you need to be. So I leave you with this… Namaste (The God in me, recognizes the God in you).

Heart Chakra Prayer…

heart-1450300_1280The Heart Chakra is a key power center for all energy of all things related to Love. This chakra allows deep bonds with others, your sense of caring and compassion, feelings of self-love, generosity, kindness, and respect among other things. I also like to think that the Heart Chakra is where we give and receive love to ourselves and others. The colors of the Heart Chakra are Green and Pink, so you can also incorporate them in your wardrobe and accessories when you want to help your Heart Chakra.

Here is some information on how to know if you Heart Chakra is balanced or unbalanced.

When your Heart Chakra is balanced, you may feel emotions of:

Balance of Giving and Receiving, Balance in relationships, Bliss, Compassion, Courage, Emotional Wisdom, Expansion, Faith, Harmony, Healing, Healthy Boundaries, Healthy Relationships, Honesty, Joy, Oneness with Life, Openness, Peace, Self Love, and Self Nurturance.

When your Heart Chakra is unbalanced, you may feel emotions of:

Antisocial, Codependent, Conditional Love, Controlling, Critical, Demanding, Depression, Jealousy, Judgmental, Lack of Boundaries, Lack of Empathy, Self Preservation, Separation, True Forgiveness, Unconditional Love, and Withholding Love.

Some helpful ways that you can help keep your Heart Chakra open and balanced are  by doing some Heart Chakra Exercises and Tools. One of my favorite things for the Heart Chakra is using Affirmations. Here are some that may help you.

Beloved I AM presence, I come before the Universe and Source energy ready to be healed from all of my worries and all that is keeping me unbalanced in my Heart.

I declare that I AM open to giving and receiving love. I AM Love, I AM the embodiment of love. I AM Love.

With each breath, I AM breathing love into my body, and with every exhale I AM releasing worry and stress. I AM breathing in Love 24 hours a day seven days a week.

I AM Love. I AM Worthy of Love. I AM the Embodiment of Love.

Remember that healing your Heart Chakra may not happen overnight. But, the more you work at it, the easier it will become and the more your Heart will open and be able to heal. Remember that you are worthy of love and, to truly love others, you have to start by truly loving yourself. When you do that, all will fall into place.

How to Protect your Energy in your Everyday Life…

bubbleSometimes, as empathic or energy sensitive people, we can all wish that we can just stay in our safe sacred space 24/7. But, unfortunately, that doesn’t always happen in our favor. Sometimes in life, we have to do and go places that we would like to avoid at all costs. Sometimes, that may happen every day or sometimes this is heightened during social, holiday gatherings, or public events. Being in this type of situation can cause a lot of anxiety. This is especially when we will be around people with whom is difficult to set healthy boundaries with. Inadvertently, the energy around you can physically affect your mind, body and soul vibrations.

About six years ago, I met a wise woman who had lived thousands of lifetimes. She knew she was living in her last incarnation. She could sense that I had all this stress around me particularly related to an environment I had to be in all the time. She told me that I needed to find a way to protect myself from all the negative energy while still allowing the positive energy to enter into my field. It took some time to really comprehend what she was saying to me. But, within a few months, I started incorporating this method into my daily practice. Before I even knew that I could hear spirit, I was using tools that they were giving me to help me get to a place where I could hear them. This technique allows you to create an energetic shield around you that will keep negative energy out, but allow loving positive energy to flow through freely. This will also help if you are empathic and tend to pick up other people’s negative energy. By doing this exercise, you will keep that negative energy out of your own energy field and space. This method is very similar to “shielding” but uses certain aura colors to spiritually allow you to fill yourself with the light you need for that particular day. When thinking about what colors you will want to use for your day, do a mental review of what you have going on that day or the areas with which you need some help. Let’s say that you have a meeting with your boss that day or know that you need to have an important conversation. You will want to incorporate the color blue for that day as blue is the color of communication. If you want to have some extra protection for your day, yellow is always a great choice as it is a color of Divine protection. Perhaps you have been struggling with a health issue. You will want to use green as it is the color of healing. If you are trying to increase your own intuition and abilities, purple is the color for you, and so forth based on your needs. You may find that you have one or two colors that you want to include daily. White and Pink are good everyday choices. White is a pure state of light and often considered the light of the Divine. Pink is the color of love, and love is in all things. It is something we could all use a little extra of every day no matter how much we may have in our lives. There is no right or wrong way. So, trust your instincts to guide you for each day. When I have a hard time deciding on certain colors for the day, I like to also use Rainbow energy for the color. For some reason, I feel that way I have everything covered. Color is the most vibrant, versatile and fun way we can work with energy, so do just that, have fun. If you have particularly long days, you can always rejuvenate your energetic circle by simply thinking about the colors around you or mentally going through the exercise again. This will ensure that you will stay within a positive energy force all day for your highest good.

Exercise:

  1. While still sitting in the lotus or cross-legged position, bring your hand’s palm to palm to your heart chakra.
  2. Take a deep breath.
  3. Decide what color with which you are going to fill yourself.
  4. Bring your arms straight above your head while still keeping your hand’s palm to palm.
  5. Imagine the color of your choice energetically dispensing from your hands. Once you have that image in your mind’s eye, turn the palm of your hands outward.
  6. While still visualizing the color dispensing from your palms, move your hands down towards the floor. Then, bring the light around your back, up over your head, down your face, core and around your legs and back up to your head. This makes a complete energetic colored circle.
  7. With your hands still at your head from the last circle point, you will want to create a seal. The seal will help keep the color strong all day and keep anything out that will not suit your highest good. To create a seal, simply take your dominant hand and rotate your hand clockwise three times at the last circle point.
  8. If you are working with multiple colors, you will then want to repeat steps four through seven for each color with which you want to fill yourself.
  9. When you are done with your final fill and seal, you will want to express your gratitude to the Universe with a thank you, or Namaste for helping you with your day.

Protecting our energy can feel like it is complex at times, and there are so many variations on, how someone can go about it. There is another technique that works really well. However, getting it right is the most difficult part. Learning to not let others affect your energy. This happens a lot with those people with whom it is harder to set boundaries; for instance co-workers, friends, and family. We all have that person the thought of whom gets your energy in a tizzy. The best and most efficient way to deal with that truly comes to the realization that we are all doing the best we can in this life and their reality may not be your reality. It is not always your responsibility to convince them otherwise. All you have to do is remain kind with your words and actions not only to them but yourself as well. Surrounding yourself in love for yourself and being confident in you is just like wrapping yourself in a sparkly white blanket. Always remember that no one can affect your energy unless you allow them to. You got this!

A Spiritual approach to De-Clutter your life & why it’s important…

This year, more than ever, I felt surrounded by “stuff”! On all levels, I was cluttered. In my mind, my surroundings and everything felt like it was busting at the seams. I would both physically and energetically clean my space, and yet it would still feel like something was off. Then I realized that I had to start to de-clutter my life. Truth is I was a much different person when I was in my twenties than I was in my mid-thirties. In my twenties, it was “things” that I collected that were fake fulfilling me. When looking back, I was an internal mess in my twenties. At one point I had 100 pairs of shoes. A) I am not proud of that and B) no one needs that many shoes. Reality is most of the shoes hurt my feet and I never wore them or wore them once, but kept them for some kind of sentimental value. We will discuss this shortly. When I turned thirty, I had a shift. It wasn’t because I was in a new decade of my life. Things that once made me happy were suddenly not as fulfilling as they once were. I had a dramatic overhaul of shifts in perspective. Suddenly, material items like brand names, bags, belts, jewelry, shoes etc were not what made me happy anymore. To be honest, those things never did. They only masked the internal clutter I was trying to hide such as my stress, unhappiness, depression, anger, frustration and other emotions I didn’t want to feel and more. Without realizing it, I had formed unhealthy attachments to objects. I bought them to fill a void. It didn’t work.

So, even though it took about 5 years for this shift to fully come into perspective, and probably even longer. I found myself at 35 and wondering what the heck to do with all this stuff? When you go through a major life overhaul it can be overwhelming. So, I suggest you start in steps. If you are like me, make a list of the steps you want to take. You will want to have three lists going for yourself, and sub-lists within each list. The first list is all of the clutter that fills up your mind. All the things you worry about over which you have no control. That one was first on my list and I have been working on that for a good three years and I will probably be a work in progress on that for the rest of my life.  Then you want to write down on that list as well, all the people that hold space in your head that don’t deserve to. I speak from experience! Cut them free from your head or send them a rent bill every month, because it is not worth it. Forgive them, forgive yourself and then let it go, and repeat if and when necessary. Then, write everything else on the list that clutters your head. Like, finances, security etc. Then, go through the list and cross off things over which you have no control. Automatically, those get cut and let go. I never thought a day would come where I would complain and say, I am paying too much for my phone bill or my cable bill. But, the day came. If finances are something that fills your head with clutter, the best thing you can do it actually look at them. See where you stand. See where you can adjust and make changes. What is each worth for you to keep in your life? Call the vendors you work with and see if there is any way they can lower your monthly bill. For me, I looked at my bills, I decided to get rid of cable. Yes, it took some adjustment. But, I was already paying a membership to Amazon Prime and had access to Netflix so spending over $100 just in cable didn’t make sense. Just like 100 pairs of shoes, I didn’t need to be watching that much TV anyway. I wanted quiet in my life and to be able to hear nature. I changed car insurance companies where I actually got more for less money. My point is to look at areas of your life and see where the money is going and adjust where you can and how you can. It doesn’t happen overnight, but the shift happens and then it becomes your comfortable place. Finances are hard for people. They are often the area that keeps people in places they don’t want to be any more for many different reasons. Make financial choices that your future self will thank you for. The next two lists may be harder believe it or not.

Energetically and physically clear your space. Energetically; everything that ever happens in our space leaves a residue of energy that can become imprinted in the space. Illness, doubt, arguments, negative emotions, trauma, grief and even every day energetic junk that you pick up can build up in the rooms of your space. Prosperity, high vibration, and abundance have a difficult time in lower vibration spaces. So, remove the clutter, organize, and make room for new. A rule that I have personally followed is that, if you have not used it in six months, get rid of it. Let’s be honest, we do not always have this “urge to purge”, or clean up. But, when your body tells you it is time, listen to it and just go with it. That is the absolute best time to go through your closet, cabinets, etc. When you get that urge to organize and clean things out, your emotions will less likely to interfere with your decisions of whether or not to keep sweatpants you love but can no longer wear because they are so worn out, or the CD you bought in 1998 that you now have in your digital music collection. Which organizing my digital library is also on my declutter list, as well as organizing my computer files. But like I said, let’s take small steps.  If you are the type of person who doesn’t get that urge that is ok too; try to do a good de-clutter at the change of each season. Take that feeling and drive and make a “physical things” list. This was definitely where I saw the shift happen. Like I said, I had a lot of stuff, and a lot of stuff I simply didn’t use anymore. And, not only did I have stuff in my home, I also had some at my parent’s house too. (I know they will read this and say to themselves and you still do…again I am self-proclaimed work in progress.) Like I said before, the basic rule to de-clutter anything is; if you haven’t used it in six months it is time to let it go. This is where keeping things for sentimental reasons can come into play. You may not even want to do a list for the physical stuff and just start purging. When you have one of those moods where you just want to clean, that is your best time to do it. You will not be influenced by your emotions to keep that t-shirt from that place, a person visited and brought back for you that you never wear. No! It’s time to let that go. Now, when I decided to go through this phase I also took on being better to the environment. So, I didn’t want to throw anything away. Everything I was letting go of either had to be donated, given to a friend who wanted it, or recycled. So, make a pile of what is what. When I questioned an item, I put it in the Goodwill pile. I had a lot of really nice expensive things that I was going to let friends get first dibs on and so those went in a separate pile. The one thing I definitely came to terms with while I was doing this was that I had more than one bad habit in my twenties besides smoking. The first rule to any recovery process is admitting you have a problem. I had a big one on my hands that I didn’t want anymore. Like the shoes, I had to have because they matched my bag. Guess what, I never wore them. I bet if I added up everything I donated it would come to thousands of dollars. Someone said, “why don’t you sell these things”?  Honestly, I was at the point I just wanted to give them a new life. If they were just going to sit in my closet like they had for the last six years, it was time to let it go and cut my losses. It got to the point where a friend asked me in a concerned voice, “why are you getting rid of all your stuff”? Are you planning on moving across the world or going somewhere”? I simply told them, “I just have too much and it is an older version of myself that I no longer am, and I am ready to let that go and free myself from that version of myself.” Now listen closely people. We all have those one pair of pants or that one item that looked amazing 15 to 20lbs ago that we hang on to as a goal. It is time to let those go as well. Now, this is a multilayered physical list that, for some, may require years to fully work through and that is ok. Besides Goodwill, I also like to donate to Dress for Success, and a local organization that helps families get back on their feet after disasters like house fires etc. Maybe you want to donate your items to a church or organization you like to work with. The point is let the items you are no longer using get a fresh start with someone who needs them. It may take you longer to spread the wealth and find new homes. For instance; you have tons of new bottles of hand lotion that you know you are never going to use.  For those who can’t afford such a luxury your donation would be like a lottery win. There are a lot of women’s shelters and shelters in general that will take items off of your hands. Re-gain your energy, space and emotional well-being. You will be amazed at how accomplished, happy, lighter and at ease, you will feel once you declutter your space. Only then will you see how the clutter was impacting you. I always found that when my home felt cluttered my overall life felt cluttered and stagnant. Even after days of work and many bags of things to drop off at donation locations, I still felt like there was a lot left. But again, I am a work in progress. I, at least, got the Chi moving in my space and it was starting to feel good. In the right space, you can accomplish your dreams. Sometimes that space is outside of you, and sometimes it is internally. And, if you’re lucky, you’re outside surroundings start to match your internal cleansing process.

The last list is all the internal things you need to de-clutter which takes the longest and is often the most stubborn and challenging. Looking back I think I have been de-cluttering my soul all my life. At least feels that way. Now, I wouldn’t suggest trying to do everything at once like I did, because it can often times it can feel like a crash diet where you are setting yourself up for failure. There were many times during the soul part of the de-clutter I felt like a failure, that I need to be better, do better, and be the best version of myself I could be. Again, I think this list is one we work all of our lives because on because as humans we are constantly evolving, changing, upgrading ourselves, working through things, dissolving toxic relationships even with ourselves, and working on boundaries. Not to even mention all of the past life stuff we internally hold. If you are empathic, you are also carrying everyone else’s “stuff” you are carrying around with you also.  There is no quick fix when it comes to de-cluttering your soul. But, when you combine these lists that is where you start to see the impact on your soul. During my de-cluttering phase, I took a look at my actions, limitations, how I was treating and caring for my body, soul as well as others, and environment. I stopped using straws and reduced the amount of trash I had, and focus on how I was impacting the environment. I started taking better care of my skin, and feeling my feelings and not filling them with things. I looked at foods that I was putting in my body and how they were processed. I worked on my feelings towards myself and removed fears and triggers. This is also when you have to learn to say “NO”. Not only to other people that are causing these triggers for you but to yourself as well. No, you don’t need that etc. Whenever I “wanted to buy” something, I slept on that decision overnight and 99% of the time I didn’t want it anymore. And, yes that is something I will have to continue to work on every day. But, when you become more fulfilled internally than externally, you don’t need all this “stuff”. I used to look at the world’s problems as something that was too big for me to fix and it was so overwhelming. It is as if Humans are literally hoarding the Earth and there was nothing that I could do to make that better. But, I was wrong. I could stop contributing to the problem. By going through this process, I not only think about what I am buying from a financial standpoint, but I have a different perspective of need and want after purging my life. So, I accumulate less. I also realized that with no cable my life isn’t any less than it was and I am not missing out on that and I find less clutter in my mind. It doesn’t mean that now I am naive to the world. I just view it differently and choose to live a slower pace without the noise whenever I possibly can.

Now, this really only scratches the surface of the infinite possibilities of shifts you can experience when you de-clutter your life. Again, you will want to have patience with yourself. Don’t try and do everything at once as you may find yourself in a mind, body and soul clutter mess. Also, don’t give yourself false expectations that they next day you are suddenly going to feel amazing. Especially on the mental and soul clutter items. Now, to really de-clutter your life could take years. If that is the pace is right for you, that is ok. I still have a ton of de-cluttering left to do myself and I would imagine I will be doing it for a while still, if not my whole life. But, I do know that this process has really, for the first time, allowed me to let go of the past that I really needed to let go! Release, forgive and move forward to my present and the future me that I am building every day. One that feels fulfilled on the inside because of healthy relationships, friendship and love of myself and purpose rather than one who collects “just in case items” for a non-existing use or need.

Finally, once I have physically and energetically cleaned my home, I am started feeling like I could take a deep breath. Remember, you are going to have ups and downs and that is ok. It is not a sprint, it’s a marathon and all you can do is wake up each day and do the best you can that day and that is enough. Nothing more, nothing less than your best. Every day you have the opportunity to be the person you know you can be mistakes and all. It’s a small piece in a big picture, but can have a wonderful impact on your overall life. You don’t need to get rid of everything you own to declutter your life. It is more about the learning process that organizing and process of an item with a purpose offers. You have all you need inside of you to feel fulfilled without trying to clutter your mind, body & soul.  I hope something in this month’s blog helps you on the path to finding it.

All Things Solar Plexus Chakra…

What if I told you there was a spot within you where if you tapped into it, you could unlock courage, personal power and you could feel more worthy in your everyday life. We have all been there when we had a “gut” feeling about something and we knew it was going to be an issue. But, we did it anyway and then we wished we would have listened to our gut! That instinct and the key to unlocking the courage and personal power within you is called the Solar Plexus Chakra. We all have one. Even animals have one. But, most of us do not pay it any attention and we can go our whole lives that way. Until one day we open up to this energy source, and it changes our life.

 

What is a Chakra?

A chakra is an energy source that is within your various energy fields and the physical body. It can also be referred to as a wheel of energy.  These wheels of energy connect various energy sources within your body to each other. They then connect to your physical body, and also cosmic energy. That is how we get our “Chi, Life Force Energy, Prana” etc. We all have a large variety of Chakras within all of us. There are seven major Chakras which you may be more familiar with. Running from the Base of your tailbone up to the top of your head, these seven main Chakra’s help us stay balanced, connected and healthy. When they are all working together and aligned, they can be your best friend. But, when they are having a tough time, need support and having a temper tantrum, well let’s just say you will be in for one heck of a journey. But that is another blog in itself.

 

What is the Solar Plexus Chakra & Why is it important:

The Third Chakra, also known as the Solar Plexus Chakra, is just above your naval area. This energy source deals with raw emotions such as abundance, anger, frustration, personal power, success, worthiness, and intuitions. This Chakra is like your own personal vision board that you carry within you every day. It is the key to manifesting living your best life and achieving all of your desires. It is up to you to decide whether to focus on the positive aspects or negative ones.

 

How the Solar Plexus Chakra Affects your Physical & Emotional Health:

When this energy source is balanced, you can feel worthy, filled with confidence, happiness, feelings of achievement, success, calm and full of life like the Sun. It also allows you to remain flexible and allows you to handle life’s changes with ease. When this Chakra is unbalanced it can lead to a slew of health issues, unbalanced emotions, depression, anxiety, unhealthy boundaries, doubt, anger, digestive issues and more.

This is a unique chakra. Not only does it sit in a location that houses most of the essential organs from the stomach, large intestines, liver, nerves and headquarters for our immune system, etc. It can also be vital to our muscular system and can affect diabetes, self-esteem issues, and even arthritis.

 

Signs your Solar Plexus Chakra is blocked:

  • A physical health issue such as constipation, addictive behavior, reflux issues and more.
  • Difficult time keeping healthy boundaries with people and even ourselves.
  • Feeling bored with life, passive, depressed and anxious.
  • Oversensitive to thoughts and feelings and well as a feeling of vulnerability and an uneasiness of life.
  • Overwhelming feelings of shame.
  • Self- Esteem and Self-control issues.
  • Weight gain and a form of energetic protection.

 

Signs your Solar Plexus Chakra is balanced:

  • A clear direction of your life path and goals.
  • Balanced relationships, work ethics, physical and emotional thoughts and actions.
  • Motivation to achieve goals & desires.
  • Positive self-esteem, sense of self and core beliefs and upholding values.
  • Strong leadership skills & seeing the abundance in your life.

 

Ways to keep your Solar Plexus Chakra balanced & aligned:  

  • Cut your Energy Cords on a regular basis. Ideally once a day if possible.
  • Get organized in your physical space, and this will help you have the motivation to achieve other goals.
  • Incorporating yellow foods into your diet such as corn, lemons, yellow peppers, yellow squash, etc.
  • Physically work your core area in exercise.
  • Practice positive affirmations to yourself and listen to positive uplifting music and sounds.
  • Put into place healthy boundaries and set up ways to make it easy to keep them in place. For example, if you are a “yes” person to everything and someone asks you if you want to do something, simply say let me check my calendar and get back to you. This way you have some time to think about it.
  • Remember your inner roar, and that you are strong, worthy and can achieve your desires and rise above the ebbs and flows of life.
  • Spend some time in the sun and in nature connecting to the energy within you.
  • Surround yourself with yellow or gold light. Either by placing an energy bubble of these colors around you or by decorating your space in these colors.
  • Using Bergamot, Elevation, Cheer, or Lemon Essential oils. We personally recommend DoTerra Essential Oils.

 

I have learned that using “I AM” Affirmations specifically targeting my solar Plexus Chakra is the best and easiest way to keep it working at the desired levels. For example, some powerful ones are “I AM Worthy, I AM Enough, I AM Abundant, and I AM Achieving my dreams.” Telling yourself those simple key phrases every day can make a huge impact in making sure your Solar Plexus Chakra is balanced and healthy. I also love working with crystals for the Solar Plexus Chakra like Citrine, Tiger’s Eye, Orange Calcite, and Pyrite. Simply by carrying them on you or having them in your space can make a huge difference for you and the health of your Solar Plexus Chakra. Try getting in the habit of taking a minute each day to connect yourself to your Solar Plexus Chakra, talking positively to it, setting a daily affirmation and setting the day in a positive motion. By doing this you will create an environment that harnesses self-worth and personal power where you can achieve all. And, certainly, this can take time as we all have self-doubt, vulnerability, and fears that arise. But, take it day by day and each day give it your best effort and see what happens. The more you nurture it the more benefits you will start to see play out in your life. Then, one day you will wake up and feel that abundant joy and inner worth that was right inside of you the whole time and you will be living your desires.

I was and still am one of those people who has to constantly try to keep my Solar Plexus Chakra balanced. It is one of my weakest chakras, so I can understand firsthand the frustration it can cause in your everyday life and how it can touch each facet of life from business to personal. The best advice I can offer is to try to get to a place where you accept that you are enough just the way you are. You don’t have to be anything you aren’t in order to make others happy. Just be you. If that’s a good person or a challenging person just do the best you can and that is enough. We are all works in progress and it can take time to get to where we want to be. But, each day give yourself your best chance to make the day abundant and count towards the good in your life.

Find your Life Purpose in Numerology…

At some point in our lives, we ask ourselves what our purpose is. What were we meant to do with this life? In a way, what is our mission? Often people will come to me wanting to know the answer to this area of their life. Unfortunately, it is not that simple. Figuring out our purpose is a journey, and more often than not, it is a layered journey. I wish I could tell this person, you are meant to be a teacher at this school. Or, you’re supposed to move to Alaska and own a fishing company. Sometimes, depending on where people are on their journey that can happen. But, other times, the person has to take specific steps and learn certain life lessons until either they are ready to step into or accept their life purpose. There are keys to that knowledge right in front of us if we just know where to look. When people are struggling with finding their purpose, I suggest looking at their Numerology Report. Even in ancient times, philosophers knew the numbers held a special code to our soul and purpose. Specifically, I believe that there four key areas of numerology that hold the key to unlocking knowledge of our life purpose:

Life Path Number – This number represents who you are at birth, and certain traits you will have through life. The Life Path number holds key aspects to your life journey and it often holds a person’s primary purpose of life.

Expression/ Destiny Number – This Number holds keys to how you are going to express your life purpose and how you are going to achieve it. This number also helps you look at the ebbs and flows of your destiny, and how ultimately your life lessons play into your life purpose.

Heart’s Desire/ Soul Number – This number holds information to parts of ourselves to which we may not be attuned.  This number is a reflection of the inner you, your authentic self, deep beneath the surface of your outer personality. It speaks to your true desires and motivations. This is what fulfills you in this life.

Karma Number/s – Personally, I feel that Karma comes into play for our life purpose because we are, most likely, working at both simultaneously throughout various times in our life. For example, if we had a karmic debit around money or success knowing this could help us take steps to resolve the karmic debit so we can achieve our life purpose.

Although, I personally believe a full Numerology report gives us the most comprehensive picture of our live’s journey. These four key numbers can hold the answers to those pressing life purpose questions. Sometimes, it is as simple as affirming information that we already knew about ourselves but didn’t pay attention to for whatever reason. Somewhere along the path in life we move from “if you can dream it you can achieve it” to “Dreams are just that” attitudes. We can become overwhelmed by fear and how we can even make that kind of change in our lives. Let’s be honest, no one really likes change.

Many years ago, I was told what I was going to be doing with my life. I thought “yeah right”. In my mind there was no way that I could help people that way or fathom the thought. Mindfulness In Everyday Life…

We live in a multi-tasking world. As a society, we are checking our phones, checking emails, over-thinking about the day ahead of us, watching children, listening to conversations at work, thinking about our personal lives, health, love and goals and most of the time, we are doing all of this as we are driving, eating, walking and carrying on another conversation. Sometimes, when we are not being mindful, we can even affect our emotional system in negative ways, such as:

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Depression
  • Obsessive-Compulsive disorder
  • Relationship problems
  • Substance abuse

What if we could slow the mind down and actually be present in every moment of our day? What would that look like and how could that make us feel?  Mindfulness is a form of being present in our own lives and being an active participant in the moments that make up our day. This applies even to little things.

I cannot tell you how many times I have left my house in the morning questioning if I left the straightener plugged in. I found myself driving wondering if I would find the fire department at my house when I got back. I do not straighten my hair every day. On the days I do, I get out of my routine and am not paying attention to the activities I am doing because I am so consumed by leaving the house at a certain time. I had to literally stop everything I was doing and focus my attention on the act of unplugging the straightener in order for me to stop living in this state of anxiety over what I may or may or may not have done before leaving the house.  My acts of not being mindful include, leaving for vacation, driving 2 hours, then turning around and driving back 2 hours the same day because I could not remember if I left the stove on. One of the most plaguing of all is I am in such a rush to leave the house, that I can’t remember if I locked the door, or left something on. There are many times I am at the end of my driveway, turn around and go back in to check everything over in a mindful state. And, I think we can all relate to the drive to or from work and we do not remember how we actually got there.

There are many mental, spiritual and physical benefits derived from practicing Mindfulness, some include:

  • A zest for life attitude
  • Allows you to become fully aware and engaged in daily activities
  • Creates deeper connections with people in your life and enhances personal relationships
  • Reduces feeling of worry about the past and future and can overall reduce stress levels
  • Provides a more restful night sleep
  • Creates a stronger sense of overall Faith in your life

Forms of Mindfulness meditation have also been shown to be helpful in reducing blood pressure and reducing the symptoms of chronic pain. If you are just beginning and want to introduce Mindfulness into your daily activities it is ok to start small. Sometimes we think we have to jump in fully into a new lifestyle. Doing so can make the process overwhelming and that is where we can get frustrated when we do not meet certain goals. A good way to start is being mindful when you eat. How many times do you eat while doing another activity such as working through lunch, watching TV, reading, etc.? With every bite you take, be mindful about it. From chewing each bite to how it makes your body feel. Think of nothing else but processing the food you are eating in that moment. Even if you start by just doing this one meal a week, you will notice that you may realize you are fuller faster than you normally are, the food taste better, and you become more aware of exactly what you are eating.

Other ways you can practice mindfulness during your day are:

  • Start becoming more aware of yourself, your physical body, your emotions, your reaction to people, things and circumstances as well as your body language.
  • When engaging in conversation, give all your attention to the person. Put your phone away, shut off the TV, and have a conversation.
  • Set intentions for your day, or affirmations.
  • Set small goals for yourself. For example, each day pick something that you will be mindful about instead of being mindful about every moment while you are learning to incorporate this more in your life.
  • Practice Mindfulness Meditation
  • Staying present in the moment
  • Every morning and ever night, say three things you were grateful for that day.
  • Listen to positive uplifting music.

  • Notice sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and touches.
  • Do a self-reflection of your day before bed and access ways you can incorporate mindfulness during the next day.

The best thing you can do when practicing mindfulness is to keep it simple. Worrying about being mindful enough or too little will cause you more stress. Notice how you are breathing, eating, drinking healthy fluids and how you are thinking about yourself and expressing yourself. Become an active participant in your own life, and start noticing how your actions can impact moments in your day and can also impact your relationships with others.

Doing a Spiritual Detox: How to…

download (1)A Spiritual journey is filled with many ups and downs just like any important thing we do in life. There are many times that we hit a plateau and we then feel overwhelmed, stuck, defeated, sick, frustrated and so much more. If you have reached those feelings, it is time to do a detox. Not just any detox a full-blown mind, body & soul Spiritual Detox!

For the last year, I have been called to go through this process and it is not always easy. But, I am going to share with you some of the steps to take for each area of this detox. Try your best to do a Spiritual Detox for 21 days. If you are going through some harder areas at the moment, try to extend your detox program to 40 days for best long-term benefits. Before we get into the actual Spiritual Detox plan, I want you to take a few moments and answer these questions:

  1. What is your intention for this Spiritual Detox?
  2. Are you open to Change?
  3. Are you willing to be truthful with yourself along the way? (This is a very important question. If you are good at pretending to yourself, a Spiritual Detox is not something you should try right now, unless you are willing to take a hard look at some things.)

So, now that you have thought about those questions, let’s take a look at the Elysian Life Design Spiritual Detox Plan!

Mind

The mind is a funny and complex entity. Yet, it is where our EGO can live. It is the headquarters for overthinking, doubt, self- destructive behaviors, anxiety and more.

  • Wake up every day with Gratitude: As soon as you open your eyes each day and before going to sleep at night, say these two words and it will change your life in amazing ways. “Thank You”! Saying those words it creates gratitude in your heart and raises your vibrations to the level of gratitude so that you are continuously sending gratitude into the Universe and it can send it back to you.
  • Let it Go…No Seriously Let it Go: That is right, you can literally sing the song from Frozen if you have to. We all have and it is ok if you need to every day. In order to release and make room for new dreams and desires you have to release the past, blame, disappointment, hurt, etc. Doing so will allow you to move into a place where you can be free from those emotions and judgments. You have to get to a place where the only person you have to please or justify yourself to is yourself. If the past is holding your present and your future hostage, you have to cut it off and release it.
  • Surround yourself with Positivity: When you put positive thoughts out in the Universe, positivity will find it’s way back to you. One of the most intense callings I got on my Spiritual detox journey was to turn down the volume of the World. I use to be to the kind of person that loved the hustle and bustle of large cities. But, then I reached a point where all I craved was quiet and a great distance from negativity. We have to turn the TV off, put the phones, tablets, computers away and listen to Nature. Put Facebook and Instagram away for a few hours and seek the real positivity in your life. Some think we are who we surround ourselves with. Surround yourself with people who inspire you, uplift you, and encourage you to go for your dreams. Eliminate the haters and fakes in your life that are holding you back whether you know it or not. One of the things I try to do all year long, even if I am not on a Spiritual Detox, I listen to positive uplifting music on K-LOVE radio http://www.klove.com/. It will remind you of the good in the world and that there are good left and people trying to make it better. Do a good deed every day just because. Be a good person, have patience, and appreciate others. Those small actions will make a huge difference in your life.

Body

I learned something a long time ago that most of us know but forget. So, I am going to remind you again. Our Bodies are our temple. How you treat your body is up to you. But, this area is just as important as the other areas of this detox. This detox is not meant to help you lose weight, but to help you build a better relationship with your body.

  • Practice mindful eating: Being mindful is something I am always working on improving. I constantly multitask in my head. And when I eat, I am always multitasking. I have had and still have moments where I am guilty of not being mindful when I eat. I am rushed so I eat quickly while I have a few minutes. I overextend how long my body can go without eating. Then, when I do eat, I want to make up for the meals I missed in one sitting. And, how many of us actually chew our food properly? I know I wasn’t! So, what I started doing was to slow my mind and be in the moment with each bite. I would engage my senses. How did the food taste? How did it smell? And maybe most of all, I would chew each bite at least 25-45 times. I would actually count each time in my head. Yes, it can get annoying. But, a few things happened when I did this. I became more aware of myself. Sometimes I would close my eyes while I was chewing so that I could just focus on the process. I also would get full faster cause I was able to hear my body because I was paying attention while nourishing it.

 

  • Practice Healthy Eating: Eating healthy, nourishing meals with fresh fruits and vegetables has an incredible way of raising your vibration. You’ll also want to be sure you’re well hydrated by drinking plenty of water, herbal tea, and other non-caffeinated, non-chemical laden, or non-sugar-filled drinks! The more Alkaline the water and foods the better. Try your best to limit your sugar intake as much as possible.

  • Energetically and physically clear your space: Energetically, everything that ever happens in our space leaves a residue of energy that can become imprinted in the space. Illness, doubt, arguments, negative emotions, trauma, grief and even every day energetic junk that you pick up can build up around the rooms of your space.  Smudging your space will help remove or shift that build-up in your space and create a higher frequency of light and positive energy to flow throughout. It is also important to physically clear your space. Prosperity, high vibration and abundance have a difficult time in lower vibration spaces. So, remove the clutter, organize, and make room for new. A rule that I have personally followed is that, if you have not used it in 6 months, get rid of it. Let’s be honest, we do not always have this “urge to purge”, or clean up. But, when your body tells you it is time, listen to it and just go with it. That is the absolute best time to go through your closet, cabinets, and When you get that urge to organize and clean things out, your emotions will less likely interfere with your decisions of whether or not to keep sweatpants you love but can no longer wear because they are so worn out, or the CD you bought in 1998 that you now have in your digital music collection. If you are the type of person who doesn’t get that urge that is ok too; try to do a good de-clutter at the change of each season. To start to make three piles: Keep, Donate, Throw Away and Recycle (as some items will be beyond help). Creating these piles will help you start the organizational process. When there is a donation pile you know the items are going to be useful to someone else and you will be more inclined to give it to a person who needs it more than you. Knowing you are going to be helping someone by donating items to a worthy charity will calm any separation anxiety you may feel about the item. We all have that t-shirt, souvenir, book, magazine or knickknack that we hold on to just a little too long, so this spring clean it out. These techniques work for your home or office spaces. Re-gain your energy, space and emotional well-being. You will be amazed at how accomplished, happy, lighter and at ease you will feel once you declutter your home, office, and life. Sometimes when you start cleaning and get that energy flowing in your space, you can allow forward movement for your goals.

 

 

  • Connect with your Divine Support Team: This is something that all of us have access to and it is so easy to do, but we can often forget. Your Divine Support Team consist of, but not limited to, your Higher Self, Guides, Guardian Angels, Past loved ones, Spirit or Power Animals and Deities, or Archangels with whom you have a close connection. Through this connection, you are able to translate information that is most important for you to receive at that particular time in your life. Through visual information, we can tell you how to create a deeper connection with members of your Divine Support Team. This will allow you to strengthen your own spirituality, intuition, signs, and symbols they may send you to let you know they are very much present in your life and that you are on the right path. All you have to do is welcome them into your day and give them permission to help and they will be there.   • Cut your Energy cords: When we connect with another person, especially with Family, Friends and in Romantic partnerships, we can activate an energetic cordwith them. As we continue through the relationships with these people, interactions, thoughts, emotions, and feelings are added to the cord. This cord has the ability to share energy and transmit a high frequency of communication which may explain why we often feel and connect telepathically to our partner’s thoughts and emotions. When the cord is healthy, it can create a vibrant, energetic source exchange. But, when the cord is unhealthy, it can often lead to feeling controlled or drained of Most of us will intuitively know how strong our cord is with someone. But, if you are unsure, a good measure is how strong or how often you think or feel towards someone. This is especially true if the thoughts are obsessive, manipulative or fearful. There are many different ways that you can cut your Energy cords. Perhaps you already have a way that works for you.   • Cleanse Your Energy With Light: There are many ways that you can do this. You can get energy healing work done. Or, if you are in need of some immediate relief and don’t have access to a healer you know and trust, a simple way is to imagine yourself under a waterfall of white sparkling light. Let this light wash over you and remove anything that is no longer serving you, or anything less than love in your life. Take three deep breathes and with each exhale try to get deeper into your own energy.   • Take YOU Time: This can act as something that can really fall into all three areas of your detox. Maybe you want to get out in Nature and take some deep breaths out in the Sunshine, get an Energy Healing Session, go to a Yoga class, or get your blood pumping at spin. Maybe, you just want to take a nap with your YOU time. Any of those things can feed your soul. It creates a bond of trust with your mind, body, and soul and is really what can keep you going on your overall Spiritual Journey.

Most of all, learn to trust yourself during this Spiritual Detox. Trust in your Divine Support Team and in your journey. Do your best and the rest will fall into place. It may not be in your timing, but Divine time will work itself out in your favor. At the end of your detox, you will have clearer, deeper insight and have a solid foundation of your path. You may find that you need to incorporate some of these things into your daily or weekly routine. Think of it as Spiritual Maintenance like getting an oil change for your car.
