Manifesting with the Energies of the New Moon

The New Moon is symbolic of new beginnings, and an internal renewal clock. The moon represents the feminine, emotional, creative and nurturing aspects of our lives and has been worshiped since ancient history. It is a time to manifest and draw forth what we want to welcome in our lives. What do you desire? What do you want your life, finances, relationships, career, family dynamics to look like? These are questions to ask yourself during this time. Treat the moon like your best friend and a page in your journal.

A complete cycle of the moon takes exactly 28 days, radiating her energy to us in cycles of waxing and waning, bringing in the ebbing and flowing we all feel throughout the month.

Although a New Moon appears dark in the night sky and can hardly been seen, its energy is very powerful. Much as the moon affects the tide of the ocean, it affects our body. More than half of the human body consists of water. Consequently, your body can feel full, bloated, etc around the full moon and lighter around the new moon. The phases of the moon also affect our sleep patterns.

During the New Moon we can also find ourselves reborn just like the moon itself. The New Moon also brings energy of renewal and taps us into the heart beat that connects nature and the moon.

Here are some of my favorite ways to work with the New Moon

Vision Board:

Many of you may be familiar with the concept of a vision board from the popular book “The Secret”. It is basically a board with photos, words, and elements of what you want your life to look like. They can be really fun to make and equally powerful. Your vision board can represent any area of your life such as relationship, career, money, dreams or all of them. This is a great thing to do specifically around the New Moon. Use your vision board as a tool to manifest all you want to bring into your life over the next moon cycle. Remember that your only limitations are the ones you create. Be open. Be abundant. Ask your soul what it needs and place that on your vision board.

New Moon Altar:

Creating an altar with a specific intention is one of the most powerful things you can do to harness the magic within you. It doesn’t have to be fancy, or the biggest most beautiful thing you have ever seen. It just has to come from the heart. Allow your soul to speak through your actions and the items that you choose. I like to make sure I have a black candle representing the new moon. I also like to choose certain stones or crystals depending on what I am working on manifesting with that specific moon. Other items you may find helpful are, feathers, musical items such as a rattle or drum and some sage to burn. You may even decide to place your vision board at the center of your altar. You may find burning an abundance blend of herbs like cinnamon, lavender, patchouli and sage will help reach your goals.

Moon Water Bath:

A Moon water bath or Moon bathing, is where you soak in the tub with some abundance herbs like Angelica, Blessed Thistle, Ginger, Lavender, Milky Oats and Roses. You can also add essential oils and salts to your liking. It is important to create an intention for this New Moon bath. While you allow yourself to soak in the water for a good 20 to 30 minutes, allow the energy of the bath to soak into your body and allow your intentions to be manifested.

Moon Prayer:

Praying with the moon can also help draw in abundance to your life. Here is one of my most favorite prayers to for the New Moon. “I welcome transformation. I welcome growth. I welcome abundance. I know what I need. I AM ready!”

Moon Sprays:

I have had an infatuation with spiritual sprays for many years. Summer Solstice: Welcome the Love & Light

On Wednesday June 21st 2017 at 12:24am EST, Summer officially arrives in the Northern Hemisphere. I am sure that many of us have long awaited this day after the crazy winter we all had with the back and forth of nice weather and cold weather. This day marks the time of year when the days start to get longer than the nights. Also known as Midsummer or Litha, it is truly a time for celebration. The time of the “light” that we experience during the Solstice and the summer months is a great opportunity for you to work on some of your spiritual goals, reconnect with the “source” energy, or manifest your dreams. Here are a few things you can do to during the Summer Solstice, to draw in the power of the sun and gratefully welcome in the season:

  • Hold a Solstice bonfire celebration.
  • Spend the day out in Nature and reconnect with the energy of the Sun.
  • Seek some realignment in your overall life! Perhaps you should adjust some of those New Year’s resolutions.
  • Reconnect with your Faith and renew your relationship with God.
  • Take a walk along a body of water. While you are walking, visualize what your summer, special events, love, people and new careers that you wish to bring into your life this summer will look like.
  • Sit outside and read a book that can connect with your purpose.
  • Start a healthy food cleanse.
  • Consider an Energy Healing session to clear out old energy and make room for new.
  • Meditate outside in a garden, forest, park or your sanctuary in your own yard.
  • If you happen to like Ancient Egyptian Culture like I do, work with the Egyptian God Ra. Ra is the God of the sun and radiance.
  • Have a conversation with the Faeries… Yes Faeries. Making reference to “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, there is much magic that can be obtained working with the Faeries. This can also be a fun activity if you have children. Perhaps, build a little Faery home or terrarium and welcome them to come into your home, garden or your dreams.
  • Make an altar with summer flowers and herbs, and light a candle and tell the Universe what you wish to manifest this summer.
  • Participate in a Solstice Ceremony or Drumming Circle.
  • On or around the Solstice time, go outside and just stand in the sun for a few minutes to soak in the energy of the Sun. If you really want to feel this, stand facing the sun, close your eyes, put your hands up and just enjoy the feelings.

No matter how you choose to spend the Summer Solstice, know that there will be loving magic behind your intentions. This is what will make it unique and special for you. With the warmth of the Sun coming to Earth, you can expect to feel happier, healthier and an overall sense of well-being, physically, emotionally and spiritually. There are many Sun deities and Goddesses that you can work with during your summer solstice celebrations, and you may want to work with them all. The most important thing is to recognize what you are guided towards and go with it as it is part of the carefree joy and laughter of the season.

Reality of Worthiness

As we go through this year of New Beginnings, we start to review where we were and where we want to be in life. Some of these feelings can bring up thoughts of feeling unworthy or inadequate. Dealing with these emotions can often leave one feeling vulnerable, overwhelmed or, possibly, even anxious. We can often go through our whole lives thinking we do not deserve to be happy, or deserving of what we really want. This can be very common when we start to find ourselves feeling happy either in a new career or relationship. We can even self-sabotage ourselves out of that happiness because we do not feel worthy of it. I used to have a really challenging time when people would give me compliments of any kind. They actually used to make me feel very self-conscious and uncomfortable. I was told by many people that it can actually be a turn off when someone would sit there and not only not accept a compliment. But, then turn around and make the person who gave the compliment think that something was wrong with them. Often when we feel unworthy in life or of choices we make, we feel like we have to justify our actions and over-explain to people whom we don’t really owe an explanation. Once I started to realize I was doing this and how it was making others possible feel uncomfortable, I started to simple say two words. It was my response to any kind of compliment from “That outfit looks great, or I like those earrings, or cute shoes or purse, etc.” These two words started to feel like my own magic words where it was a win-win for everyone. I didn’t feel uncomfortable saying them and it eliminated any need for justification. So what were these two magic words you may be asking? “Thank you.” Those two small words made a huge difference. Now of course it took some time to get used to.  A few times, I had to stop myself from falling into old habits. Overtime I felt myself recognizing my own worth in certain areas of my life. To help work through all these different feelings and emotions and to find some balance, I suggest you start your morning off with a few affirmations. You can also say a few when you start to feel those overwhelming feelings that cause you to feel unworthy. The trick is to see which one you relate to the most and adjust as you see fit. Here are some affirmations that you can start to use every day:

  • All is well in my world and I exchange love and acceptance with the world.
  • I accept others as they are and they in turn accept me as I am.
  • I am free to make my own choices and decisions.
  • I am Love, I am Loved and I am worthy of Love
  • I am never alone. The universe supports me and is with me at every step.
  • I approve of myself and feel great about myself.
  • I consciously release the past and live only in the present.
  • I deserve all that is good. I release any fear.
  • I love and accept myself unconditionally.
  • I release the need to prove myself to anyone as I am my own self and I love it that way.
  • My self-love allows me to accept compliments easily and also freely compliment others.
  • My mind is filled only with loving, healthy, positive thoughts which the Universe mirrors back at me in my life.
  • My mind is full of gratitude for my lovely and wonderful life.

The power of prayer can also help you get through those moments where you are just in state of panic, depression, anxiousness or even questioning our own worthiness. Here is one that people have found helpful.

“Dear God,
Help me to remember I am worthy of love in my life and all of my relationships.  Please replace all of my unhealed, limiting or judgmental thoughts about myself with Your love.  I forgive myself for all past mistakes and failures and allow the purity of Your love to heal my mind and heart.  I’m willing  to see myself as whole, complete, innocent and pure, as You created me.  Please give me the wisdom and strength to release the past and claim the love and happiness that is Your will for me.  I dedicate all of my relationships to the Truth, as You created it, and trust that Peace is inevitable.  Thank You, in advance, that with You as my Source, all of my relationships are loving, lasting, harmonious and blessed.  With Your guidance and certainty, I will reach the highest levels of joy and happiness in all of my relationships.  Thy will be done.  Amen”

Another helpful tool to use for worthiness is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Also known as tapping, it is a great way to help one achieve a better mind set to help one feel worthy. The thing about worthiness is, as much as you want to change your feelings on it, unfortunately, it will not change overnight. Be patient with yourself especially while working through this process. When you start any of these methods of Affirmations, prayer or EFT give yourself at least 21-40 days to form a new habit and see the benefits of it in your emotional, physical and spiritual body.  Once you do, you will start to see how entire world can change. Not only will you start to see your worthiness, but you will find yourself more accepting of positive things coming into your life. The more you do that, the more they will continue to flow in abundance to you. Your relationships will improve as well as your career / life desires and ambitions. Finding your worthiness can also have a significant healthy impact on your mind, body & spirit and one’s connection to the Universe.

An Empath’s Guide to Dating and Relationships: Part 2

A few years ago, I wrote “An Empath’s Guide to Dating and Relationships”. It has been by far our most popular blog. What I have learned from this is that love is really universal and so is energy. People from all over the world are experiencing the same things regarding love and relationship. This applies whether it is a parent, a sibling, co-workers or a romantic partner. As an empath, you are so sensitive to energy shifts from people, places, things and world events. Here are some answers to the most common questions over the years and some additional information.

One of the most common things I know I have experienced, as well as others, is this ping pong effect that can happen with someone you are really close with, especially a partner. Let’s say that your partner is going through an incredibly challenging time. As a result, they shut down emotionally and it is like a stone wall barrier. Although the situation has nothing to do with you personally, you feel the energy of the situation very strongly. It is very common that you may pick up the other person’s emotions of sadness, anxiety, frustration, loneliness, depression and more. Many times you may think that it is you feeling that way when, in fact, it is the other person. Then what can happen when you are both really close like a husband or wife, or in a romantic relationship, and both of you are sensitive to energy the energy can bounce back and forth from each of you, creating the ping pong effect. You may feel helpless in this type of situation, or feel like you are going crazy, or not know what to do at all. Honestly, the best thing you can do is to center your energy and ground yourself. By you doing this, you will also impact the other person’s energy and help them ground and center their own energy without even realizing it. It can help a couple out of that ping pong feeling and allow those feelings of anxiety, depression etc. to shift into peace, happiness and feelings of living in the present. Another common question, has been about someone being an empath in a relationship. Sometimes past issues come up for them causing fear and panic. This causes them to abruptly walk away from the relationship even though they care about the other person. This can be a really hard thing to deal with. I know I myself have dealt with these feeling in a relationship. We all have things called triggers, and it is very common for those triggers to carry on from one relationship to another, even unintentionally. Honestly, you may not even know you have a trigger about something until you start a new relationship. The most common one I have come across has been around communication. Let’s say that you were in a past relationship with someone who kept things from you and lied with the intention of misleading your or hurting you, such as cheating or manipulation. I spent most of my college years in just that scenario. Then, you meet a great person and you are like “yes, this is it”. You start a new relationship and a few months in you start to notice that they are quite or you feel maybe they are being secretive about stuff. Because of your past experience with this emotion, your ego will automatically make you think that the same thing is happening again.  Now there can be many reasons why someone is acting secretive that don’t involve cheating. Perhaps they are dealing with something personal with which they don’t want to burden you. Or, maybe the new relationship is bringing up a trigger for them as well and they are trying to work through it without you thinking they have lost their mind. They may even be having issues with self- worth or feelings of they don’t deserve you. These are very common feelings for an Empath to feel. The best way to avoid a breaking point where someone walks away is to talk about it and be honest about your feelings. This will be a challenge for some as having talks about your feelings can make you feel vulnerable and sometimes you don’t understand your feelings or know how to describe them. You will want to do a few things before asking the other person if “you can talk”. First you will want to make sure you are grounded and your energy is protected before having that kind of conversation. Next, make sure you both have a full stomach, because, let’s face it when someone is hungry, the energy of angry and annoyance can escalate emotions. Also, if you know you need to have one of these kinds of talks, ask the Universe to show you the right time to do so. Then keep yourself open so you see when they tell you the right time is. Also, you don’t want to have this type of conversation when either of you is tired, angry or frustrated about another situation. And, when you speak to the person, it is important not to play the blame game or say things below the belt or make someone feel ashamed of their feelings. That is the fastest way to get an Empath to walk away. Be completely honest with the other person and maybe even share things about yourself and allow yourself to feel vulnerable. This will help open the lines of communication. In my case, I make sure I am grounded and that my partner and I are fed and relaxed. When I feel the time is right, I work certain topics into the conversation. The two Archangels I highly suggest working with in this situation are Archangel Gabriel, who is the Archangel of communication, and Archangel Raguel, who can help with fairness and resolving disagreements.

Another popular question that comes up is what is my biggest recommendation for an Empath? I can’t stress enough the impact that daily affirmations can have on your life as an Empath.  It will help you stay in the moment, focus on yourself, and allow you to be in your own energy instead of feeling everyone else’s. Also another tip is to ask to be disconnected from the mass consciousness before you go to sleep. This will help your mind and body heal while you sleep and allow you to actually sleep better because your mind won’t be racing about things you saw on social media or TV.

Being an Empath is nothing to be afraid or embarrassed of. We are living in a time unlike any other on earth. People are becoming more aware of spirituality. As a whole, we are raising our vibrations as a culture even if it doesn’t feel that way. We are also inundated, like never before, with information and news. If you are an Empath just be aware that you are impacted by these things, especially images you see on television. Our eyes cannot make the distinction between something on television and something that is happening right in front of us. So, when the message gets up to our brain, our mind and body then react accordingly. This may even activate or fight or flight responses which can wreak havoc on our health. Above all love yourself through the process. The more self-love you have the more love…relationships overall.  You will feel more confident in your interactions with people.  The world needs Empaths right now. A Year In Review

I remember as a child it felt like time was taking forever. Now as an adult I feel like I blinked and this year was almost over. Last December I was so excited, and thought 2016 is going to be the best yet! Being the year of completion, I thought I was going to clear my patterns and karma. I thought it would be easy and I would be fantastic. Boy was I wrong! One of the things I learned this year is that what you think you are going to work on and learn can be completely different than what the Universe has in store for you. But, remember that even though it may seem like the Universe is out to get you, it isn’t. We all face different challenges, setbacks, illnesses because they will either help us grow and expand, or will help us see and learn areas in our lives that need attention or the ones we were either ignoring or avoiding. The months leading up to this year, I could feel things shifting for me specifically health-wise. Whenever I wasn’t paying attention to something important that was shown over and over again, my physical body would step in and get my attention and force me to stop and notice. It started slowly in August and progressively got worse in the months following. Then, in December I ended up spending the week leading up to Christmas in the Hospital. That was when I realized that 2016 was not going to be as easy or exciting as I had thought.

With each changing of the season, I would do whatever I could to welcome in the change needed to heal or clear away whatever it was that was keeping me in this pattern. There were times I would get frustrated, because I would make plans in July for October thinking, for sure I will be better by then. October would arrive and I somehow developed a new issue. I remember having multiple conversations with God telling him “listen, I get it, but can I deal with one thing at a time instead of multiple things.” And it wasn’t like they were small things either. Over and over during the year, I found myself back to where the year started in the hospital. And, trust me, despite trying very hard to keep a positive attitude, I was mad as hell. When you are struggling, it is easy to feel that you have been abandoned. If you already have abandonment issues, they are intensified on top of everything else happening. I felt like even my guides had left because I didn’t have the interaction I once felt with them. When I would ask them why, I was told they hadn’t gone anywhere. In fact, they were still right there with me. They explained that at that moment, what I needed was to be in the physical to spend all my energy on healing. When I interact with them, my own essence is in the Spiritual and although it is important to be in both, that is not where I was meant to be at that time. That often made me more upset. I liked the spiritual and we often try to seek the highest vibration. All of this made me feel like I was vibrating at a much lower level.

Despite knowing my path, by midyear I felt more confused than ever about what I was meant to do. But how could this be a part of my path? It was the Spring Equinox. Despite running and fever and barely being able to walk, I went outside and stood in the grass and gave it all to the Universe as I had done so many times before. I was so ready just to feel better and I wanted all of the health issues gone! As I was standing there letting everything go, the wind started blowing and I could feel everything that I was releasing being blown away. When I opened my eyes, I saw bumble bees. Bumble bees represent personal power and many think they are representatives of the sun. I thought for sure I would wake up the next day and just be magically healed. The day after I would wake up the same.

Many people over the last year have asked me how I can stay so positive? I tell them, trust me I have my moments I am not so positive. There were times where I felt it was so much easier to give in or not care because I had not only been dealing with it this year. I have been dealing with health issues for sixteen years. Besides doctor appointments, tests, procedures, infusions and transfusions, I was doing physical therapy three times a week. In the beginning I would get so tired and it would hurt so badly. I had someone special tell me if I don’t try or don’t push myself just a little further every time, the only person I would be hurting was myself. That was a key shift in the process. How would I know what I was capable of unless I tried? So I started trying things I would normally do. There were definitely times that I couldn’t do them, but at least I tried. I would keep trying repeatedly and I eventually succeeded.

So even though I still have challenges I am working on, next year is the year of New Beginnings.  I have hope that new beginnings will be the areas of my health. I have, however, learned some important lessons this year.

  1. It is important, that no matter what you are facing, to have patience, not only with yourself but others.
  2. Even if others do not understand what you are going through, it is ok, because not everyone is meant to.
  3. I learned empathy on another level that I had not known before. When I see people with their own set of physical limitations, I will have a unique perspective because I have been there too.
  4. There were time this year where I had to say no to things, or to put myself first. That was the first time in 33 years that I had to do that. We are taught somewhere in life that putting ourselves first sometimes or saying no to things like family events or social functions is being selfish and that is wrong. It is not wrong, it is listening to our bodies and having enough respect for ourselves to honor our intuition.
  5. Regardless of how we may feel, we are never abandoned spiritually or physically. It can be hard to find that right balance between not wanting people in your business or just having pity on you, and having the support you need and desire to get you through both here on earth and in heaven.

Often times in our lives we must face the consequences of decisions we made as teenagers or young adults. For years I thought it was unfair, because how could someone so young be responsible for something I would have to deal with as an adult. It took me a good part of this year to realize it didn’t have to be that way at all. We are all different people now than we were in our youth. We all grow and evolve. And, sometimes it is really hard to forgive people that abandoned us, betrayed us, hated us, called us names, bullied us or put us in really uncomfortable situations. How do we forgive those people? I wish I had the answer to that question! I do know that it really all starts with forgiving ourselves. Taking ownership of whatever part we played in things that lead us to our present is important. Maybe we didn’t always make the best choices. Knowing that it is ok to just release the parts that are no longer serving you. Think of it this way. At some point we will meet that special someone. From the moment of that meeting the past doesn’t seem to matter. Life will always be different. Sometimes that is a man, or a women or even a child. In that moment we strive to become a better person not for them, but for ourselves. I think this year of completion has brought, to most of us, the ability to love and accept ourselves even through the tough times we face, or the moments we want to give up but don’t. I think if we all look back to where we were this time last year, we will find ourselves a little wiser, stronger and with expanded souls for all the new beginnings coming our way next year!

Manifestation: Abundance, Prosperity & Wealth!

Let’s face it we could all use some more abundance, prosperity and wealth in our lives. I know when I first started learning to manifest, I was so worried I would do it incorrectly and screw it all up, but the good news is, you really can’t do it wrong. Regardless of what method or tools you decide to use to manifest with, 99% of it is the intention behind it. So, unless you are asking for lack of abundance, prosperity or wealth, you’re good. Here are some of the things I like to work with when doing manifestation work:

Before you begin, make sure you have a clear picture of the outcome that you desire. Try writing it down as many times as necessary until you have it just right. Make sure you are clear and specific with your intention. Remember that is mostly your own magic that brings your manifested desires into reality.

First you may choose to set up a place in your home specifically for this purpose. It will help you better visualize your intentions; much like a 3D vision board. You may choose to decorate your altar with stones, crystals or even statues. A good statue for an altar for abundance, prosperity & wealth would be Lakshmi, the Hindu Goddess of exactly that. You can find a statue of her in many sizes, colors, etc. You can even frame a photo you love instead of using a statue. You can also use stones or herbs depending on your liking. This will help increase the energy vibrations of your manifestation. Citrine, Rose Quartz and Aventurine are all good choices for stones, especially for beginners. Other tools you can use are binaural beats for manifesting abundance. Song has great power in shifting energy. So, you can either listen to it while thinking of your intention, or perhaps listen to it while falling asleep at night.

A personal favorite of mine is the Rose of Jericho. I have to admit when I first came across it, I was unsure of how it would work. I made sure I followed the directions as explained in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5tXfQOPwYI by the shop owner from whom I purchased it. I used holy water in the bowl and, to try it, I used pennies and asked that each penny represented $100. Once the plant had opened into a full bloom I placed 13 pennies in it and then let the plant close back up and then reopen. Within a week, I received the $1,300 I had asked for from the manifestation exercise. So be prepared when you use the Rose of Jericho because wealth will find its way to you.

When you are doing any kind of manifestation work, besides a solid intention, you may find that you want to work with an affirmation while the Universe is bringing you your desires. You may want to include something such as “I am worthy of the abundance coming my way”, or “My income is constantly increasing,” these will allow you to stay true in your belief that your intention was heard by the Universe and the Divine is assisting you to reach your goals.

And finally, be sure to express gratitude not only when you receive it, but while it is still manifesting. Go in with the attitude that it is already done! Express gratitude every day for it as you never know the unexpected ways the Universe will provide it for you. Be realistic with it while practicing then after a while you can work your way up to becoming a millionaire!

You may find that when you try to live a life of abundance on a regular basis, the more abundance and prosperity will find its way to you. Even if you can add in one activity that can help you live an abundant life instead of a scarcity mindset, you will notice how your life will start to change. Below you will find a list of characteristic of living in abundance by having an abundance consciousness or living a in a scarcity mindset.

Abundance Consciousness

  • Accept responsibility for their failures.
  • Continuously learn.
  • Embrace change.
  • Exude joy.
  • Forgive others.
  • Give other people credit for their victories.
  • Have a sense of gratitude.
  • Keep a “to-be” list.
  • Keep a journal.
  • Operate from a transformational perspective.
  • Read every day. Talk about ideas.
  • Set goals and develop life plans.
  • Share information and data.
  • Want others to succeed.

Scarcity Mindset

  • Blame others for their failures.
  • Don’t know what they want to be.
  • Exude anger.
  • Fear change.
  • Fly by their seat of their pants.
  • Have a sense of entitlement.
  • Hold a grudge.
  • Horde information and data.
  • Never set goals.
  • Operate from a transactional perspective.
  • Say they keep a journal but really don’t.
  • Secretly hope others fail.
  • Take all the credit for their victories.
  • Talk about people.
  • Think they know it all.
  • Watch TV every day.

In the end, have fun with your manifestation work and do not be afraid to try new things and see how they work for you. Add in your own spiritual tools that you may already know and love. Make the manifestation work your own and that will make it even more powerful!

Your going through an Awakening: Now what?

Over the past few years you may have heard the term “spiritual awakening” a lot as it seems to be a trendy topic and everyone seems to be having one. But, for those of us who have been through one and lived to tell the tale know it isn’t always rainbows and unicorns. So why do we actually have to have a Spiritual Awakening anyway? Here are some of the top reasons and ultimate desired outcomes from the process:

  • To discover your true inner self , the spiritual you, and to connect to this self through a increase in consciousness during the awareness process
  • To raise your consciousness to higher levels on a spiritual level
  • Learn to love and accept yourself and others fully
  • Discover any spiritual gifts or reawaken the ones that you closed off
  • Discover your purpose and life calling
  • Develop empathy and sensitivity for people, animals and nature
  • Learn to experience life in the moment and to the fullest

Through this process, it is very common to question everything in your life. Things that used to make you happy suddenly aren’t as appealing as they once were. This includes friends, work, habits etc. Many times people who begin to go through a spiritual awakening find that they stop drinking and smoking because they understand that, on a soul level, those behaviors no longer serve who they are anymore. Relationships may shift during this process. Also, you may no longer connect with people with whom you did in the past. At the same time, you may develop deeper connections with people whom you feel know the “real” you as you discover who that is. The number one thing I see with people starting their spiritual awakening is not being happy with their career anymore and wanting to make a drastic change, not for money, but to make their soul happy.

Finding out who you are is really the beginning of anything from relationships, career, family, health and the elements around you. By knowing yourself you can have a better understanding about your role in the world and how there is really no separation between you, the Divine and nature.

There are a few things to be aware of that I feel no one really talks about when you read about having a Spiritual Awakening. Many times to in order to really have change in your life, you may feel like your life completely falls apart, or it is just one thing after another that happens. You should know that the Universe is not trying to frustrate you or feel like you have been abandoned. Sometimes drastic measures have to happen for you to pay attention and really look at things and want to make room for how these changes will impact you for the better long term because more often than not we don’t seek change. It finds us and we must decide if we are going to step into it or be dragged into it. Another part of your life you may see impacted is, your health. Although I can talk with Spirit, I don’t always listen to their advice for me and there insight can tend to become background noise. I know it’s there but don’t always tune in. Well, when that happens and I am really supposed to hear the messages Spirit tends to get my attention by having something physical happen to make me stop in my tracks. Nothing will make you stop and slow down like an injury, illness or a health scare in general. I usually try to make a deal like “oh, I will do this if you can make this better” I warn you that only works a few times if you don’t keep your word. You may not always see how that issue relates to your awakening, but in the end the issues are always connected, whether it’s to love yourself, have more empathy for others, or to bring your purpose to light. The Divine will never do something “just because”. Everything happens for a reason. One day you will realize why it was necessary. Another thing to be aware of is that, while you are going through your spiritual awakening, you are going to want to make the world a better place. You will want to share your new knowledge with everyone especially friends or family that you feel may not be living in the best version of themselves just because you have seen the light. No one is going to want to hear that you feel they are doing something wrong anymore that you would like to hear it from them. Often, if you are really close to the person you can easily become consumed by wanting to help them. You want to make it easier for them than it was for you. But, here is the truth, are you ready… It’s not your problem and it’s not your place. Just like when someone has an addiction no one can change that about them unless they want to change it. Step back and say “Not my monkeys, not my circus”. It’s best to just be there for that person if they want to talk about it with you. You never know if talking with you is part of their own journey that will stimulate the change leading up to their spiritual awakening.

You may feel you have been going through the process of a spiritual awakening forever and maybe you have. It can take years and years to go through the process. Or, you don’t have many issues and it only takes you months. What I do know is that you usually do not go through this process by choice. You don’t wake up one day and say “I’m going to start my spiritual awakening today” because it is honestly one of the hardest things you will ever experience. The other thing is that it is very hard to stop the process once you have started it. Delaying the process will potentially only make it worse once it comes back around because it will and usually when it is inconvenient for you.
Now there are also some really amazing things that happen in this process that will empower  and ultimately change your life for the better.  This will probably include really loving and accepting who you are for the first timeprocess, .ifes one of the best…include really loving and accepting who you are for the first time. Not caring who knows whom i. Not caring who knows whom is one of the best gifts you can truly have in this life. So, when you feel defeated along the way, or wish you could stop the process, I urge you to power through it and make it to the other side and see what the Universe has in store for you.

Finding your Worthiness

These situations can often impact how we think about ourselves and ultimately how worthy we feel for positive things that happen in our lives. We have all heard about self-sabotage and how during points of our lives we somewhat feel we deserved what we got, or do not deserve happiness in areas such as relationships, career, finances etc. You work hard all your life to get to a certain level you feel is successful. Yet, when we get there, you feel unworthy of the results for which you worked so hard. This can be really challenging to deal with because it can be a constant struggle of feeling inadequate. Many humans, when they think of worth, base it on the wrong criteria such as what others think or how much they are loved rather than themselves. We have all heard it, but take a moment and let it sink it… The only one who can determine how worthy you are and what you deserve in this life is YOU! You can have someone look at you every day and tell you how wonderful you are every day, but the only way you will actually hear and acknowledge it is if you become your own personal cheerleader and tell yourself you are worth it. Here are some things that can help you find and enhance your worthiness:

  1. When you wake up in the morning and getting ready for the day, look at yourself in the mirror and, no matter what you are facing, tell yourself you are worthy of love, happiness, health, success etc.
  2. At the end of each day before falling asleep state out loud something you feel proud about, either on the day or in the past.
  3. Learning to express gratitude is one of the most important things you can incorporate into your life. Not only will it help you learn to appreciate what you have in life and be grateful for it, it has shown many health benefits including overall happiness in life.
  4. Doing things for yourself does not make you selfish. In fact, it can rejuvenate you in ways that will allow you to be more beneficial not only to yourself but to others as well. Think about what you do during the week, how hard you push your body when you’re tired, or have a list of things left to do that others are depending on you to get done. Taking a moment or an hour just for you can definitely increase your feelings of worthiness because you think enough about yourself to recognize when you need time too.
  5. Learn to forgive yourself. Only then can you fully release the energy from your field that may be holding you back.
  6. Look at certain areas of your life and let go of anyone, thing, or situation causing you to feel less about yourself. If you have to, sing “let it go” (we all know words people and it will help you feel better).
  7. Whenever you find yourself in a situation where someone is speaking ill of you or providing excessive drama or bad energy, simple excuse yourself from the conversation. This will empower you and allow you to recognize your own self-worth.
  8. Take time to acknowledge your achievements and reward your successes. So often we set goals in life and then once we reach them we think it is not enough and we set another goal. We walk around trying to obtain unachievable expectations. When you stop to acknowledge your achievements you can actually feel worthy of what you have achieved and it will allow you to feel confident about other goals you set.
  9. Make daily affirmations to help you through moments of insecurities, anxiety and self-doubt. These can allow you to stay positive through difficult times and can help you shift your thinking.
  10. Help other people who need it and recognize and accept when you need help.
  11. The more truthful you live your life, the higher your own energetic vibration will become. So stop lying to others about things. Most importantly, take responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming others for anything bad that has happened in your life. Even if the bad thing was caused by someone else, you don’t have room to hold on to it anymore. It is not your cross to carry anymore. You have control over your attitude so walk in a truthful path.
  12. Start facing your fears! More dreams are crushed by fear than failure. Start paying attention to your thinking instead of “I could never”, or “I can”, and “who cares” and most importantly “what do I think”.

Your Personal Resurrection

But, then something happens on a spiritual level that you can’t explain and makes you rise above. For some of us, it is faith that brings us through the challenges we face in life. We go through various lessons and blessings that bring us closer to our purpose and where we are supposed to be in life. I have often reflected through the years and felt like each time I was down or out for the count dealing with health issues, relationships, and life in general, there was a moment where I knew I would not only get through it but become a better and newer version of myself as a result. Much like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly or a phoenix combusting into flames only to rise up from the ashes reborn, we turn into something we never thought possible. We are living in a time where things are different. It feels like every day there is different energy in the Universe, on Earth, and within us. We can feel the shifting and the changes. On some level we resist that change because change is scary. We don’t always know what is on the other side of change and the unknown is a fearful area for most of us because we are unsure how to handle the results of the change. Here is what I believe are the stages we go through during our personal resurrection process:

The Shift: This is the beginning phase, where certain things start happening in your life where you can feel the change start to come. Maybe you have faced health issues in the past and some of the symptoms are coming back, or you feel your relationship with someone you care about is different than it used to be, or you are unhappy at your job. This stage is going to determine the direction of your resurrection journey.

The Fear Battle: This is the really really hard part. This is the phase where you are literally at war with your inner self and sometimes your body. During this phase you can be filled with so much doubt and there will be times you will want to give up, because this is not what you signed up for. Thoughts like, will I ever get better, will this situation ever go in my favor, and will I have a healthy relationship with this person will all run through your mind. During this phase everything is dark and looks dark endlessly. There is no light at the end of the tunnel that you can see and you want to give into that fear because it seems easier that going through the darkness one more day. Trust me, if you can get through this, you can face anything that comes your way.

The Acceptance & Forgiveness: One day you wake up and it’s light again! The pain is gone or a health issue is better, and you can start to see things more clear and get a brighter picture of what is ahead. I remember years ago I dislocated a rib head from my sternum and every day for a year I would wake up nauseous and it would stay that way all day. I thought it would be that way forever and I didn’t know how I would handle it. I prayed about it and did whatever I could do to get it to stop and then one morning I woke up and it wasn’t there anymore. As quickly as our struggles come in to our lives they can leave just as quickly. Once that happens you have to spend time reflecting on what you just went through. Maybe it was months, or years that you were in the battle stage with something. It is important for you to take the time to accept what you went through and forgive others and yourself for things that were done or said or even things that you had no control over such as an illness. Our body needs forgiveness too. We must accept who we are, where we have been and challenges that we have overcame in order to not only heal from the situation, but look at life differently and learn something from it. Nothing we go through is without purpose. Sometimes recognizing that purpose is the light we were and are seeking.

 The Loving Awakening: Did you know that every seven years the cells in our body rejuvenate and literally what makes up our body becomes new. During this final phase, you become new also. You have weathered the storm and made it through the other side. You have literally died in some way saying goodbye to an old version of you and resurrected into the newer, wiser version of yourself. You have come to love yourself for exactly who you are and embraced your flaws and come to understand that you do not have to hide who you are to others or make excuses for how God made you, because HE knew what HE was doing! You have found answers to questions like, what do I want to do the rest of my life, how am I going to get there and perhaps the biggest lesson is why did this happen? You will never be the same once you awaken into the more elevated consciousness version of yourself. The mind and the body are strong, you will have been pushed beyond what you thought you could handle and in the end you were victorious!

Once you have resurrected, you may find that while certain things have changed, some have remained the same. You may still have things to work on, and someday you may have to face the same challenges again. The important thing is that you know you overcame it once and you can do it again each time. You may also find that at the end of the particular journey you started during the shift it doesn’t look or feel how you thought it would. But, that doesn’t mean you are not exactly where you need to be and who you need to be for the new journey you have ahead of you. If you rise up each time, the Divine won’t let you fall.

Finding Self Love

 

heartOften in life, we are raised and taught that others come before us, and we come last. It is time that this perception changes. As a women, I find that others can find it selfish if I put myself first or need me time. But, who is going to nurture us if we do not take the time to do it for ourselves. Every form of love starts with self-love. We cannot truly love another person or have lasting relationships of any kind until we love ourselves. You have to matter enough to yourself before you can let others tell you that you matter. Self love is something we all struggle within our lives. For some, it is an everyday struggle. Whether you just need a little encouragement to know that you are loved and worthy every now and then, or whether it is hard to get through the day without loving who you are for the mind, body and soul, this will help. Take time to learn who you are. Love yourself for every part of you and embrace it and honor yourself.  I offer you the following prayer from The Mastery Of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz. May it provide you healing.

“Today, Creator of the Universe, I decree self-love.

I accept myself just the way I am, without judgment. I accept my mind the way it is, with all my emotions, my hopes and dreams, my personality, my unique way of being. I accept my body just the way it is, with all its beauty and perfection. Let the love I have for myself be so strong that I never again reject myself or sabotage my happiness, freedom, and love.

From now on, let every action, every reaction, every thought, every emotion, be based on love. I increase my self-love until the entire dream of my life is transformed, from fear and drama to love and joy. Let the power of my self-love be strong enough to break all the lies I was programmed to believe – all the lies that tell me I am not good enough, or strong enough, or intelligent enough, that I cannot make it. The power of my self-love is so strong that I no longer need to live my life according to other people’s opinions. I trust myself completely to make the choices I must make. With my self-love, I am no longer afraid to face any responsibility in my life or face any problems and I resolve them as they arise.  Whatever I want to accomplish, let it be done with the power of my self-love.

Starting today, I love myself so much that I never set up any circumstances that go against myself. I can live my life being myself and not pretend to be someone else just to be accepted by others. I no longer need other people to accept me or tell me how good I am. I know what I am. With the power of my self-love, I enjoy the beautiful being I see every time I look in the mirror. Let there be a big smile on my face that enhances my inner and outer beauty. I feel such intense self-love that I always enjoy my own presence.

I now love myself without judgment. When I judge, I carry blame and guilt, I have the need for punishment, and I lose the perspective of God’s love.  I strengthen my will to forgive myself in this moment. I clean my mind of emotional poison and self-judgments so I can live in complete peace and love.

My self-love is the power that changes the dream of my life. With this new power in my heart, the power of self-love, I transform every relationship I have, beginning with the relationship I have with myself. I am now free of any conflict with others. I am happy to share my time with my loved ones and to forgive them for any injustice I feel in my mind. I love myself so much that I forgive myself for ever being hurt in my life.

I possess the courage to love my family and friends unconditionally, and to change my relationships in the most positive and loving way.  I create new channels of communication in my relationships so there is no war of control, there is no winner or loser.  I work together as a team with humanity for love, for joy, for harmony.

Let my relationships with my family and friends be based on respect and joy so I no longer have the need to tell them how to think or how to be. Let my romantic relationship be the most wonderful relationship.  Let me feel joy every time I share myself with my partner.  I accept others just the way they are and without judgment. Because when I reject them, I reject myself, when I reject myself, I reject the knowing of God expressing within me.

Today is a new beginning. Today I start my life over beginning with the power of self-love. I enjoy my life, I enjoy my relationships, I explore life, I take risks, I live my life on purpose, and no longer live in fear of love. I am now Master of Gratitude, Generosity, and Love and I enjoy all creation forever and ever.
And so it is.”
