Universe Help: What’s my Life Purpose?

What is my life purpose? That is one of the most common questions asked by people in in my sessions. It is a question that I have asked myself most of my life. Trust me I often think “If I knew then, what I know now”. We know that our past doesn’t define our present. But, it can provide you lessons and opportunities to figure everything out. I often think that we shouldn’t, at 18 know what we want to do with the rest of our lives. We don’t even really know who we are as a person often until our thirties. Then, when we figure it out, we have “wasted” all that time doing what we thought we loved verse what we know we are meant to do. We can feel trapped in the illusion of our security. We are afraid to makes changes once we figure it out. But, how do we even know for sure what our purpose is. Trust me if it was as easy to go see someone who can connect with your guides like myself it would be super easy. I wish I could tell people what their purpose is. But, one of the most important steps in finding your purpose, is your journey in life. Every day, every step, every choice leads you further on your path and that is how you gain insight. Many times we make choices and at the time those choices really serve who we are. But, fast forward 10 years and you may desire to live a quieter lifestyle than you once did. That will lead you in the next step of your purpose. The question is; where do we start when we don’t even know what direction to go in? Here are some helpful steps:

  1. Follow your heart, instead of your mind: I assure you the headquarters of your EGO isn’t going to tell you what you are supposed to achieve fulfillment and happiness. So, don’t ask it and don’t listen to it. Listen to the place built and designed to make you feel love and passion. Start asking your heart to lead your steps and actions.
  2. Don’t live in fear of change: “Fear kills more dreams, than failure ever did.” We all know that fear, especially of change is super scary. In my opinion, worse than a scary movie. It is really through cataclysmic change that we rebuild what is important in our lives. And, anyone that knows their purpose will tell you that they experienced some sort of trauma on their journey to finding out their purpose. Either their entire life went to crap first, or they suffered a loss so deep, or they almost died in order for them to get the message.
  3. “Do” instead of “think”: How many times a day do you spend thinking, instead of doing? I know I think and over-think things till my brain hurts. We can get so caught up in the “what ifs”, and plan a –z that we stay in place and don’t move. I often think, “I wish someone would just tell me what choice to make”. We are the only ones who can take the actions needed to achieve the goals we want. No one else can do it for us. If you want that dream to come true, you have to make choices that get you there, not think them.
  4. Do something every day you are passionate about: By living passion and trying new things, we figure out what we love to do. Maybe you always wear pink nails, but you really love purple. Next time you go to get them done, be bold and be you. If purple and sparkles makes you passionate about life do your fingers and your toes. It can be any size thing that makes you feel that passion, but take that chance and do something small or large every day to help you find out what you are made out of.
  5. Expand your comfort zone…even just a little: Our comfort zone is like a warm, soft blanket on a cold rainy day. Why in the world would we want to move from something like that? There is a saying by Anna Berkes that says, “If you want something you have never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done.” In order to find our purpose and figure is out, we have to get out and explore the adventure waiting for us.

Perhaps, you are asking the Universe “What is my purpose?” There are a few things that I recommend to people who are in search of their purpose or know their purpose but, don’t know what to do with it when they come to me. Whatever you think or know your purpose is take steps to live it every day, because that is only the beginning of the journey and the beginning of all the abundance coming your way.

How can a Past Life influence our NOW

Past lives can hold a very intricate key into our present lives. Our past lives come up a lot more that we can realize or pay attention to in our everyday lives. Think about a fear you may have. I have many and 95% of them are because something in a past life triggers them in the present time. As an example, I have this strong fear of fire. Of it getting out of control, of it spreading, of not being able to stop it. As much as I love lighting candles, there is a part of me that has to take a few breaths before I do. The smarter me just uses the LED candles. Now, most people who perhaps have some form of spiritual gift like I do whether it be intuitive, or healing with energy, herbs, etc. Were most likely persecuted as a witch in a past life. Hence my fear of fire. Perhaps your fear is water or a fear of drowning. Most likely that has happened to you before. The thing I have come to learn is that even though we do not consciously remember things from a past life, our soul does. So, when we are pulled to repeat patterns or career choices, or even enter into relationships with people we have known before our soul remembers it. Suddenly, an alarm goes off, red lights flash and our soul yells WARNING, you have done this before it didn’t end well, don’t do it again! The soul is trying to protect us from having to go through those same things again. It is unlikely that we would be  brought to the center of town and burnt at the stake for practicing something like Reiki in 2017. However, our soul needs some kind of reassurance to let it know that it is now okay to do that. The soul thinks it is doing what is best for you to keep you safe. Many times it is our calling to keep finding our way back to lifetime after lifetime. That is how we know we are living our Soul purpose in a way where we have to push through the struggles it took to get there.

Past life issues related to finances, fears, illness, love, weight and more can all play a role in our present life. Have you ever felt totally madly in love with someone, but you had this fear of them being ripped away from you and not from a break up or anything like that, but a fear of them dying. This again could very well be a past life fear. You and this person were living a great life and then suddenly something happened in their life purpose that took them away from you. When we reconnect with that Soul in this lifetime, our Soul does that same protection method where it will do anything to keep us from the pain and suffering we once experienced. Even though this lifetime with that person may be the lifetime you get your happily ever after with them.

When your soul kicks into protection over drive, have a conversation with it. Tell it you understand why it is protecting you, and thank it for wanting to keep you safe. Explain to your Soul that times are different, and certain things are no longer punishable the way they once were. Perhaps that person has come back into your life for a reason. Maybe it is to fulfill a promise you both made before you came back to this life, so you would really like to explore it and see where it goes, or fulfill your Soul purpose this lifetime. It will understand, and work with you. 

Here is something I like to do when it comes to healing a past life connection. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to do this for all past life issues, depending on how deeply rooted they are, but it will still help and make a difference. Let’s say in a past life you fell off a building and that is why you have a fear of heights. You will want to be in a safe space where you can be uninterrupted for 10-20 minutes. Start by going into a meditative state. Take three deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth going deeper and deeper with each breath. Now, set the intention to go back to the lifetime affecting the fear that you are addressing. If it is a fear of heights, go back to that building you fell off of, but this time visualize a scenario where you don’t fall off the building, instead you turn around walk back down the stairs, out the front door and walk away. In a way, you heal that soul memory. One of the most important things to remember is, in some cases, it can be about forgiving yourself in order to move on. The Power of Affirmations

Beautiful Young Woman Doing Yoga Exercise (1)One of the things that I find so beneficial for anyone to do, is daily affirmations. Affirmations should be sent not only to yourself but to your chakras as well. Chakras are seven energetic centers through which your energy flows. When our emotions are out of balance, these chakras can become blocked and can manifest pain, illness, or other discomforts. For our bodies to function optimally, our seven chakras must be in balance. This balance enables energy to flow through our bodies. One out of balance chakra (energy center) can cause the other Charkas to become problematic and not function correctly causing them to work too little or too much.

This is what can cause you to become blocked; over thinking, worry, having addictive behavior, becoming reclusive, or feelings of hopelessness and being highly emotional or repressing emotions.  Setting daily intentions for your chakras helps you maintain balanced emotions in your chakra field providing positive reinforcement and allowing you to set the tone for your day. You will want to think about what is going on in your life and how you can use that support in your energy field. You can also set intentions for other parts of your energy field or physical body such as organs or your immune system. Below is a chart on where you can locate your chakra and what each one represents:

When talking about chakras, you will often find them referred to as numbers one through seven. Here is how the numbers are associated with each individual chakra:

4th: Heart Chakra

5th: Throat Chakra

6th: Third Eye

7th: Crown Chakra

When setting your intentions, you can either work from seven down or one up whichever you feel drawn to do.  When you are ready, focus your attention into the chakra with which you are working and, when you are ready, state your intention.

Although there are many ways that you can work with the chakras, here are some examples I like to use. I use the term I AM, because it is considered one of the most powerful words.

Root Chakra: “In my Root Chakra, I AM grounded to the center of the Universe. I

AM safe and secure.”

Sacral Chakra: “In my Sacral Chakra, I AM filled with passion and creativity.”

Solar Plexus: “In my Solar Plexus Chakra, I AM filled with personal power, self-love and

I AM claiming my worthiness.”

Heart Chakra: “In my Heart Chakra, I AM the embodiment of Love and my heart is open to giving and receiving that love.”

Throat Chakra: “In my Throat Chakra, I AM expressing my authentic self.”

Third Eye: “In my Third Eye, I AM seeing beyond what my eyes can see with clarity.”

Crown Chakra: “In my Crown Chakra, I AM filled with Universal enlightenment and connected with my Divine Support.”

To close, you may want to align yourself completely with the source. If you feel compelled to, you can say: “I AM filled with pure divine love and light for I am one with God and He is one with me.”

Those of you who have frequent digestive issues, immune challenges, glandular issues, etc. may find it helpful to set some personal intentions to help strengthen those areas as well. Take the time to make the right intentions for yourself and what you need at this point in your life. Everyone will be at different points on their paths, but we all continue to grow and develop, and our intentions will as well.  So, you may find that you use the same ones daily or are making adjustments when you feel guided to do so. Part of learning to trust your intuition is listening to it. When your intuition tells you to make adjustments, listen to it so you can continue to support the energy flowing in your chakras. Although this is a good way to bring positive reinforcement to your chakras and the many layers of your energy field, it is recommended for use in conjunction with energy healing of some kind to help you shift and release energy that is no longer serving you such as stuck and stagnate energy. Having that energy work will only strengthen your daily intentions for your charka energy.

You may be going through some kind of Spiritual Awakening. Congratulations, you are in for a very unique journey.  Sometimes you can be living what some people may call a double life. One part of you may be working for that nice secure paycheck. Perhaps you are not challenged and not living your purpose. If you are going through your awakening process, you may have found what you are passionate about and absolutely love it. But, it doesn’t exactly vibe into your “normal” job. So, every day you are consistently lower our own vibration to do things you do not want to do in order to be “normal”. When this process started for me, and I began to awaken, my body did everything it could to keep me from journeying down the spiritual path. It is not because my soul doesn’t want me to be happy. However, most spiritual people have been, at some point in life, been persecuted for being different. Your soul remembers this, and doesn’t want to see you relive the persecution. So, it tries to keep you safe. During my own process, a few of the healers I went to told me that only through healing myself, could I then heal others. At first I was like “what does that even mean”. Why had I chosen to sign up for this! Being that my purpose was to help people in various spiritual forms I couldn’t just let it go and not pay attention to it. So, I started working with a certain daily affirmation that I would say before getting out of bed in the morning. I found that it helped me start the day off on the right foot and affirmed to my soul that it was ok to be a healer in this lifetime. So, if you find that you are going through something similar, you may benefit from this as well. Here is my affirmation for embracing your inner healer:

“I embrace the healer within me, past, present and future, so that my soul may know a lifetime where I won’t be judged or persecuted for my abilities.”

After saying this for about three weeks, I found that my body started listening to me and we got on the same page about things. You can say affirmations for just about anything in your life! Affirmations can be for relationships, joy, health, or simple saying, “I AM going to have an amazing day!” I like to say these before getting out of bed because I feel like it sets the intention for a great day. Maybe you want to be more present, or rediscover your faith. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Just say what is in your heart and you will never go wrong. The more direct and open you are the more you will see how taking even a minute to set affirmations to your day to your chakras, and/or to your relationships can and will change your life.

Manifesting with the Energies of the New Moon

The New Moon is symbolic of new beginnings, and an internal renewal clock. The moon represents the feminine, emotional, creative and nurturing aspects of our lives and has been worshiped since ancient history. It is a time to manifest and draw forth what we want to welcome in our lives. What do you desire? What do you want your life, finances, relationships, career, family dynamics to look like? These are questions to ask yourself during this time. Treat the moon like your best friend and a page in your journal.

A complete cycle of the moon takes exactly 28 days, radiating her energy to us in cycles of waxing and waning, bringing in the ebbing and flowing we all feel throughout the month.

Although a New Moon appears dark in the night sky and can hardly been seen, its energy is very powerful. Much as the moon affects the tide of the ocean, it affects our body. More than half of the human body consists of water. Consequently, your body can feel full, bloated, etc around the full moon and lighter around the new moon. The phases of the moon also affect our sleep patterns.

During the New Moon we can also find ourselves reborn just like the moon itself. The New Moon also brings energy of renewal and taps us into the heart beat that connects nature and the moon.

Here are some of my favorite ways to work with the New Moon

Vision Board:

Many of you may be familiar with the concept of a vision board from the popular book “The Secret”. It is basically a board with photos, words, and elements of what you want your life to look like. They can be really fun to make and equally powerful. Your vision board can represent any area of your life such as relationship, career, money, dreams or all of them. This is a great thing to do specifically around the New Moon. Use your vision board as a tool to manifest all you want to bring into your life over the next moon cycle. Remember that your only limitations are the ones you create. Be open. Be abundant. Ask your soul what it needs and place that on your vision board.

New Moon Altar:

Creating an altar with a specific intention is one of the most powerful things you can do to harness the magic within you. It doesn’t have to be fancy, or the biggest most beautiful thing you have ever seen. It just has to come from the heart. Allow your soul to speak through your actions and the items that you choose. I like to make sure I have a black candle representing the new moon. I also like to choose certain stones or crystals depending on what I am working on manifesting with that specific moon. Other items you may find helpful are, feathers, musical items such as a rattle or drum and some sage to burn. You may even decide to place your vision board at the center of your altar. You may find burning an abundance blend of herbs like cinnamon, lavender, patchouli and sage will help reach your goals.

Moon Water Bath:

A Moon water bath or Moon bathing, is where you soak in the tub with some abundance herbs like Angelica, Blessed Thistle, Ginger, Lavender, Milky Oats and Roses. You can also add essential oils and salts to your liking. It is important to create an intention for this New Moon bath. While you allow yourself to soak in the water for a good 20 to 30 minutes, allow the energy of the bath to soak into your body and allow your intentions to be manifested.

Moon Prayer:

Praying with the moon can also help draw in abundance to your life. Here is one of my most favorite prayers to for the New Moon. “I welcome transformation. I welcome growth. I welcome abundance. I know what I need. I AM ready!”

Moon Sprays:

I have had an infatuation with spiritual sprays for many years. Reality of Worthiness

As we go through this year of New Beginnings, we start to review where we were and where we want to be in life. Some of these feelings can bring up thoughts of feeling unworthy or inadequate. Dealing with these emotions can often leave one feeling vulnerable, overwhelmed or, possibly, even anxious. We can often go through our whole lives thinking we do not deserve to be happy, or deserving of what we really want. This can be very common when we start to find ourselves feeling happy either in a new career or relationship. We can even self-sabotage ourselves out of that happiness because we do not feel worthy of it. I used to have a really challenging time when people would give me compliments of any kind. They actually used to make me feel very self-conscious and uncomfortable. I was told by many people that it can actually be a turn off when someone would sit there and not only not accept a compliment. But, then turn around and make the person who gave the compliment think that something was wrong with them. Often when we feel unworthy in life or of choices we make, we feel like we have to justify our actions and over-explain to people whom we don’t really owe an explanation. Once I started to realize I was doing this and how it was making others possible feel uncomfortable, I started to simple say two words. It was my response to any kind of compliment from “That outfit looks great, or I like those earrings, or cute shoes or purse, etc.” These two words started to feel like my own magic words where it was a win-win for everyone. I didn’t feel uncomfortable saying them and it eliminated any need for justification. So what were these two magic words you may be asking? “Thank you.” Those two small words made a huge difference. Now of course it took some time to get used to.  A few times, I had to stop myself from falling into old habits. Overtime I felt myself recognizing my own worth in certain areas of my life. To help work through all these different feelings and emotions and to find some balance, I suggest you start your morning off with a few affirmations. You can also say a few when you start to feel those overwhelming feelings that cause you to feel unworthy. The trick is to see which one you relate to the most and adjust as you see fit. Here are some affirmations that you can start to use every day:

  • All is well in my world and I exchange love and acceptance with the world.
  • I accept others as they are and they in turn accept me as I am.
  • I am free to make my own choices and decisions.
  • I am Love, I am Loved and I am worthy of Love
  • I am never alone. The universe supports me and is with me at every step.
  • I approve of myself and feel great about myself.
  • I consciously release the past and live only in the present.
  • I deserve all that is good. I release any fear.
  • I love and accept myself unconditionally.
  • I release the need to prove myself to anyone as I am my own self and I love it that way.
  • My self-love allows me to accept compliments easily and also freely compliment others.
  • My mind is filled only with loving, healthy, positive thoughts which the Universe mirrors back at me in my life.
  • My mind is full of gratitude for my lovely and wonderful life.

The power of prayer can also help you get through those moments where you are just in state of panic, depression, anxiousness or even questioning our own worthiness. Here is one that people have found helpful.

“Dear God,
Help me to remember I am worthy of love in my life and all of my relationships.  Please replace all of my unhealed, limiting or judgmental thoughts about myself with Your love.  I forgive myself for all past mistakes and failures and allow the purity of Your love to heal my mind and heart.  I’m willing  to see myself as whole, complete, innocent and pure, as You created me.  Please give me the wisdom and strength to release the past and claim the love and happiness that is Your will for me.  I dedicate all of my relationships to the Truth, as You created it, and trust that Peace is inevitable.  Thank You, in advance, that with You as my Source, all of my relationships are loving, lasting, harmonious and blessed.  With Your guidance and certainty, I will reach the highest levels of joy and happiness in all of my relationships.  Thy will be done.  Amen”

This Prayer is an excerpt from the Miracles in Prayer book by Robin Duncan.

Another helpful tool to use for worthiness is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Also known as tapping, it is a great way to help one achieve a better mind set to help one feel worthy. The thing about worthiness is, as much as you want to change your feelings on it, unfortunately, it will not change overnight. Be patient with yourself especially while working through this process. When you start any of these methods of Affirmations, prayer or EFT give yourself at least 21-40 days to form a new habit and see the benefits of it in your emotional, physical and spiritual body.  Once you do, you will start to see how entire world can change. Not only will you start to see your worthiness, but you will find yourself more accepting of positive things coming into your life. The more you do that, the more they will continue to flow in abundance to you. Your relationships will improve as well as your career / life desires and ambitions. Finding your worthiness can also have a significant healthy impact on your mind, body & spirit and one’s connection to the Universe.

How to work with Spirit Animals and Power Animals: 101

Working with animals on a spiritual level can be just as important as working with angels, guides and loved one. You may have heard many terms related to the ways animals can work with us spiritually such as “Spirit Animal” and “Power Animal”. A Spirit Animal is an animal who comes to you in order to show you through its own unique nature and skills how to deal with the manifestations of your Spiritual Journey. Think of your spirit animal as a guardian spirit or spirit guide. It can play the role of protector and provides guidance. It’s like a “personal guide or protector.” The Important thing to know about Spirit Animals is that you do not choose your Spirit Animal, and it chooses you! Another key point of Spirit Animals is they will appear only at the time and place in your life when you are ready to accept them and the wisdom they come to offer. I have found that, over the course of various times in life, a person can have multiple Spirit Animals based on what may be going on at that time and can change once a certain lesson may be learned. But, once a Spirit Animal presents itself to you, regardless if a particular part of your journey is over, you can always call on the animal’s energy whenever you need it. You can do this even if a new animal has presented itself or you haven’t worked with the animal in a long time. From what Spirit has told me, everyone has a constant Spirit Animal that they are born with, almost like a Guardian Angel. While other Spirit Animals may come and go, this Spirit Animal will always be by your side.

The other term you may be familiar with is a Power Animal. A Power Animal will often let us call upon it and harness its energy and powers to get us through a situations and particular moments. Unlike a Spirit Animal we can choose this animal. In addition, the spirit of the animal could unite with the person it “chose” in more personal ways and one will often find similarities in traits of personality, characteristics, and synchronicity between the two. As such, the power or essence of the animal can be felt or communicated. One of the cool things is you can actually merge with a Spirit/ Power Animal. If any of you have seen any of the Twilight movies, you know that Jacob is part of a tribe that can turn into wolves. That is a Spirit/ Power Animal for him! I often tell clients to imagine they are one with the animal. For example, let’s say you have a Spirit/ Power Animal that is a lion. You can literally ask the lion to merge with you. It would feel as if the animal was the outside shield protecting you while you were inside and safe from harsh energies.

Here is a great Meditation to help you find your Spirit Animal.

  1. Create a safe private space that you can relax in private free from interruption including all electronics.
  2. You will want to create sacred space. You can use holy water, crystals, prayer, or call in the  guides, and angels you work with. You can also call in the 4 directions (east, south, west, & north) and Mother Earth and Father Sky.   3. You will want to relax by either sitting or lying down in a position which keeps your back straight. Use sounds of nature to help you be present in this meditation.
  4. Relax and breathe. Allow your body to release all tension, beginning at the top of your head or crown chakra. Then, as you continue to breathe, you will find that all negativity and stress have released out your feet and into the Earth.
  5. When you feel ready, invite your spirit animal to come forward. Don’t panic if an animal doesn’t immediately appear. Trust in your intuition and it will come. When it does, welcome them into your energy field. You will also want to thank it for the messages and insight it is going to provide you.
  6. You will want to create a dialogue with the animal. Start by asking it if it is your spirit animal. Once you confirm, ask it any questions you may have. You may want to ask its name, what its purpose in helping you is, you can ask about certain areas of your life that you may need assistance with and so on.
  7. Once you have received all the insight you desire, you will once again want to thank your spirit animal for showing up in your meditation.
  8. You will once again want to focus on your breathing, you will become more present as you return to your sacred space. Take some time to thank any other spirits, guides, angels etc. You will also want to thank the four direction.
  9. You may want to journal about your experience so you can go back and remember the insight that your spirit animal provided you.

Once you know your spirit animal or power animal is, you can work with it through any form of meditation, prayer, or by simply asking that it to join you for the day. I have even seen people incorporate their animal in their jewelry. You can always look for signs of the actual animal as well. This can serve as a reminder that they are with you. The more you work with these animals the deeper connection you will have and the stronger you will trust your own intuition. I love using the site http://www.whats-your-sign.com/ to look up the spiritual meaning of the animal that comes through. It is very detailed and you will learn why that animal is in your life. It is a privilege to work with any type of spirit animal or power animal energy. Consider it just as important as any other relationships you have. Your animal will be there for you and protect you. Stay open to receiving and it will always show up for you.

An Empath’s Guide to Dating and Relationships: Part 2

A few years ago, I wrote “An Empath’s Guide to Dating and Relationships”. It has been by far our most popular blog. What I have learned from this is that love is really universal and so is energy. People from all over the world are experiencing the same things regarding love and relationship. This applies whether it is a parent, a sibling, co-workers or a romantic partner. As an empath, you are so sensitive to energy shifts from people, places, things and world events. Here are some answers to the most common questions over the years and some additional information.

One of the most common things I know I have experienced, as well as others, is this ping pong effect that can happen with someone you are really close with, especially a partner. Let’s say that your partner is going through an incredibly challenging time. As a result, they shut down emotionally and it is like a stone wall barrier. Although the situation has nothing to do with you personally, you feel the energy of the situation very strongly. It is very common that you may pick up the other person’s emotions of sadness, anxiety, frustration, loneliness, depression and more. Many times you may think that it is you feeling that way when, in fact, it is the other person. Then what can happen when you are both really close like a husband or wife, or in a romantic relationship, and both of you are sensitive to energy the energy can bounce back and forth from each of you, creating the ping pong effect. You may feel helpless in this type of situation, or feel like you are going crazy, or not know what to do at all. Honestly, the best thing you can do is to center your energy and ground yourself. By you doing this, you will also impact the other person’s energy and help them ground and center their own energy without even realizing it. It can help a couple out of that ping pong feeling and allow those feelings of anxiety, depression etc. to shift into peace, happiness and feelings of living in the present. Another common question, has been about someone being an empath in a relationship. Sometimes past issues come up for them causing fear and panic. This causes them to abruptly walk away from the relationship even though they care about the other person. This can be a really hard thing to deal with. I know I myself have dealt with these feeling in a relationship. We all have things called triggers, and it is very common for those triggers to carry on from one relationship to another, even unintentionally. Honestly, you may not even know you have a trigger about something until you start a new relationship. The most common one I have come across has been around communication. Let’s say that you were in a past relationship with someone who kept things from you and lied with the intention of misleading your or hurting you, such as cheating or manipulation. I spent most of my college years in just that scenario. Then, you meet a great person and you are like “yes, this is it”. You start a new relationship and a few months in you start to notice that they are quite or you feel maybe they are being secretive about stuff. Because of your past experience with this emotion, your ego will automatically make you think that the same thing is happening again.  Now there can be many reasons why someone is acting secretive that don’t involve cheating. Perhaps they are dealing with something personal with which they don’t want to burden you. Or, maybe the new relationship is bringing up a trigger for them as well and they are trying to work through it without you thinking they have lost their mind. They may even be having issues with self- worth or feelings of they don’t deserve you. These are very common feelings for an Empath to feel. The best way to avoid a breaking point where someone walks away is to talk about it and be honest about your feelings. This will be a challenge for some as having talks about your feelings can make you feel vulnerable and sometimes you don’t understand your feelings or know how to describe them. You will want to do a few things before asking the other person if “you can talk”. First you will want to make sure you are grounded and your energy is protected before having that kind of conversation. Next, make sure you both have a full stomach, because, let’s face it when someone is hungry, the energy of angry and annoyance can escalate emotions. Also, if you know you need to have one of these kinds of talks, ask the Universe to show you the right time to do so. Then keep yourself open so you see when they tell you the right time is. Also, you don’t want to have this type of conversation when either of you is tired, angry or frustrated about another situation. And, when you speak to the person, it is important not to play the blame game or say things below the belt or make someone feel ashamed of their feelings. That is the fastest way to get an Empath to walk away. Be completely honest with the other person and maybe even share things about yourself and allow yourself to feel vulnerable. This will help open the lines of communication. In my case, I make sure I am grounded and that my partner and I are fed and relaxed. When I feel the time is right, I work certain topics into the conversation. The two Archangels I highly suggest working with in this situation are Archangel Gabriel, who is the Archangel of communication, and Archangel Raguel, who can help with fairness and resolving disagreements.

Another popular question that comes up is what is my biggest recommendation for an Empath? I can’t stress enough the impact that daily affirmations can have on your life as an Empath.  It will help you stay in the moment, focus on yourself, and allow you to be in your own energy instead of feeling everyone else’s. Also another tip is to ask to be disconnected from the mass consciousness before you go to sleep. This will help your mind and body heal while you sleep and allow you to actually sleep better because your mind won’t be racing about things you saw on social media or TV.

Being an Empath is nothing to be afraid or embarrassed of. We are living in a time unlike any other on earth. People are becoming more aware of spirituality. As a whole, we are raising our vibrations as a culture even if it doesn’t feel that way. We are also inundated, like never before, with information and news. If you are an Empath just be aware that you are impacted by these things, especially images you see on television. Our eyes cannot make the distinction between something on television and something that is happening right in front of us. So, when the message gets up to our brain, our mind and body then react accordingly. This may even activate or fight or flight responses which can wreak havoc on our health. Above all love yourself through the process. The more self-love you have the more love…relationships overall.  You will feel more confident in your interactions with people.  The world needs Empaths right now. A Year In Review

I remember as a child it felt like time was taking forever. Now as an adult I feel like I blinked and this year was almost over. Last December I was so excited, and thought 2016 is going to be the best yet! Being the year of completion, I thought I was going to clear my patterns and karma. I thought it would be easy and I would be fantastic. Boy was I wrong! One of the things I learned this year is that what you think you are going to work on and learn can be completely different than what the Universe has in store for you. But, remember that even though it may seem like the Universe is out to get you, it isn’t. We all face different challenges, setbacks, illnesses because they will either help us grow and expand, or will help us see and learn areas in our lives that need attention or the ones we were either ignoring or avoiding. The months leading up to this year, I could feel things shifting for me specifically health-wise. Whenever I wasn’t paying attention to something important that was shown over and over again, my physical body would step in and get my attention and force me to stop and notice. It started slowly in August and progressively got worse in the months following. Then, in December I ended up spending the week leading up to Christmas in the Hospital. That was when I realized that 2016 was not going to be as easy or exciting as I had thought.

With each changing of the season, I would do whatever I could to welcome in the change needed to heal or clear away whatever it was that was keeping me in this pattern. There were times I would get frustrated, because I would make plans in July for October thinking, for sure I will be better by then. October would arrive and I somehow developed a new issue. I remember having multiple conversations with God telling him “listen, I get it, but can I deal with one thing at a time instead of multiple things.” And it wasn’t like they were small things either. Over and over during the year, I found myself back to where the year started in the hospital. And, trust me, despite trying very hard to keep a positive attitude, I was mad as hell. When you are struggling, it is easy to feel that you have been abandoned. If you already have abandonment issues, they are intensified on top of everything else happening. I felt like even my guides had left because I didn’t have the interaction I once felt with them. When I would ask them why, I was told they hadn’t gone anywhere. In fact, they were still right there with me. They explained that at that moment, what I needed was to be in the physical to spend all my energy on healing. When I interact with them, my own essence is in the Spiritual and although it is important to be in both, that is not where I was meant to be at that time. That often made me more upset. I liked the spiritual and we often try to seek the highest vibration. All of this made me feel like I was vibrating at a much lower level.

Despite knowing my path, by midyear I felt more confused than ever about what I was meant to do. But how could this be a part of my path? It was the Spring Equinox. Despite running and fever and barely being able to walk, I went outside and stood in the grass and gave it all to the Universe as I had done so many times before. I was so ready just to feel better and I wanted all of the health issues gone! As I was standing there letting everything go, the wind started blowing and I could feel everything that I was releasing being blown away. When I opened my eyes, I saw bumble bees. Bumble bees represent personal power and many think they are representatives of the sun. I thought for sure I would wake up the next day and just be magically healed. The day after I would wake up the same.

Many people over the last year have asked me how I can stay so positive? I tell them, trust me I have my moments I am not so positive. There were times where I felt it was so much easier to give in or not care because I had not only been dealing with it this year. I have been dealing with health issues for sixteen years. Besides doctor appointments, tests, procedures, infusions and transfusions, I was doing physical therapy three times a week. In the beginning I would get so tired and it would hurt so badly. I had someone special tell me if I don’t try or don’t push myself just a little further every time, the only person I would be hurting was myself. That was a key shift in the process. How would I know what I was capable of unless I tried? So I started trying things I would normally do. There were definitely times that I couldn’t do them, but at least I tried. I would keep trying repeatedly and I eventually succeeded.

So even though I still have challenges I am working on, next year is the year of New Beginnings.  I have hope that new beginnings will be the areas of my health. I have, however, learned some important lessons this year.

  1. It is important, that no matter what you are facing, to have patience, not only with yourself but others.
  2. Even if others do not understand what you are going through, it is ok, because not everyone is meant to.
  3. I learned empathy on another level that I had not known before. When I see people with their own set of physical limitations, I will have a unique perspective because I have been there too.
  4. There were time this year where I had to say no to things, or to put myself first. That was the first time in 33 years that I had to do that. We are taught somewhere in life that putting ourselves first sometimes or saying no to things like family events or social functions is being selfish and that is wrong. It is not wrong, it is listening to our bodies and having enough respect for ourselves to honor our intuition.
  5. Regardless of how we may feel, we are never abandoned spiritually or physically. It can be hard to find that right balance between not wanting people in your business or just having pity on you, and having the support you need and desire to get you through both here on earth and in heaven.

Often times in our lives we must face the consequences of decisions we made as teenagers or young adults. For years I thought it was unfair, because how could someone so young be responsible for something I would have to deal with as an adult. It took me a good part of this year to realize it didn’t have to be that way at all. We are all different people now than we were in our youth. We all grow and evolve. And, sometimes it is really hard to forgive people that abandoned us, betrayed us, hated us, called us names, bullied us or put us in really uncomfortable situations. How do we forgive those people? I wish I had the answer to that question! I do know that it really all starts with forgiving ourselves. Taking ownership of whatever part we played in things that lead us to our present is important. Maybe we didn’t always make the best choices. Knowing that it is ok to just release the parts that are no longer serving you. Think of it this way. At some point we will meet that special someone. From the moment of that meeting the past doesn’t seem to matter. Life will always be different. Sometimes that is a man, or a women or even a child. In that moment we strive to become a better person not for them, but for ourselves. I think this year of completion has brought, to most of us, the ability to love and accept ourselves even through the tough times we face, or the moments we want to give up but don’t. I think if we all look back to where we were this time last year, we will find ourselves a little wiser, stronger and with expanded souls for all the new beginnings coming our way next year!

How to enhance your spiritual vision

cf041c82-2537-4e49-9f15-2e236d69d520I have been on my own journey of expanding my spiritual vision for almost 6 years now. After thinking about it, haven’t most of us been on some kind of spiritual vision quest for most of our lives even if we didn’t realize it. We go through various things in life that take us to that next level in our spiritual talents. Some call it a “gut feeling” some call it “intuition” but more often than not it is the same thing. Sometimes you just get that feeling inside you or perhaps have a vision in your mind that you should just go for something, or stay away. Hopefully, these tools will help you trust in those feelings more and expand your own spiritual vision.

The following is a great exercise to try when trying to open your third eye or expand spiritual insight. I personally tried it and found it incredibly helpful. So, that is why I have recommended it to others and they also experienced great results. Another way to enhance your spiritual vision is through Meditation. Meditation has many benefits that can help in many areas in life and this can be a major one. Often times when we learn to quiet our mind, even if it is just for 10 minutes, we can slow our minds down from the fast pace of life and we can learn things from the connection of spirit that meditation can bring. There are also lots of amazing guided meditations on YouTube that you can watch for free that can really help not only allow you to get in a relaxed state but strengthen your inner vision. Sound can also be another way to not only enhance the meditation experience but also assist you in awakening senses that can enhance your spiritual vision. Helpful sounds could be drumming, singing bowls, chanting, etc. You may start to feel your third eye chakra (the area in the middle of your forehead above both eyes) start to pulse or vibrate. The more you use your spiritual abilities you will find that, over time, this can happen very easily.

A major part of enhancing your spiritual vision is trusting the messages or insights you start to receive. It can take years to truly start to trust yourself and believe that you have accurate insight. So, be sure to have some patience with yourself. Let’s face it. We have all wondered at some point “oh I made that up in my head” or “maybe I am losing my mind.” No one is playing deception with you. Trust what you hear. The more you realize what you heard was right the easier it will become to listen and possibly act on the messages. As part of any journey that awakens a new part of your thinking, it is important to really care for yourself on mind, body and spiritual levels while you are going through this process. I remember when I realized the things I was hearing weren’t in my head I was afraid to fall asleep. I thought if I did I would wake up and my abilities and insight would be gone. Once I got over that fear, I learned over the years that once the light switch per say is flipped on the only reason if will turn off is if you ask for it to shut down. You always have the ability to “shut down” should you become overwhelmed or feel that you are experiencing things that you don’t want to experience. But, if you decide you want to remain open, you will. So, it is important to treat your mind and body well so you don’t burnout during the process. Just stay positive, have patience, and practice your spiritual vision. Then, the whole world can open up to you.

Healing: The Power of Prayer & Where to start

39a95572-9d38-49de-87e4-842eac267f7aWe have all been on quite the healing journey. I know personally, a lot of past issues have made my own healing process more challenging. Being a believer in faith and in the power of prayer means not having to understand and almost having blind faith about your life. How it that, for example, we could go our entire is lives without seeing an elephant and still know they exist?  Many people cannot wrap their heads around the concept of knowing something exists without ever seeing it. Isn’t that the base core of faith? It can be difficult as it’s easy to get frustrated and see other people getting better while you feel you are stuck in this never ending process. Someone once told me, “the harder the process, the greater the purpose.” Along my own process, I have been desperate and seeking a miracle. If I could have, I would have gone to some remote island and drunk the water if someone told me it would help. I’ve watched online ministers and thrown my hands in the air believing with all my heart.

Recently, I had an amazing opportunity to see The Ancient Crystal Skull “Synergy” & caretaker Sherry Whitefield. I was introduced to crystal skulls about two years ago and then soon started my own little collection. I have to be honest; years ago I did not really understand what skulls were all about and what they represented. Skulls are actually incredible spiritual tools, and it would be through this experience I would learn just how much. Synergy is known as the skull of Joy, Laughter & Compassion. Synergy’s energetic frequency is so strong, that it can be felt over 40 miles away. If one person raises their vibration, that same person can impact 10,000 other people to raise their vibrations and so on. A few things the skull lets you do is leave behind, your fears, worry etc, so you can than expand to who you are meant to be. An experience with Synergy and Sherry is really a life changing experience where I have personally experienced deep impactful healing. I have often searched for healing prayers of all kinds and recently I came across the one below from inspirational author Rebecca Barlow Jordan. There was something about it, where suddenly it was all the words that were in my heart but could not express. I hope you enjoy it as well and find comfort in its words. Close your eyes, and let the prayer heal what you desire and raise your vibration so you can then go and make the impact Sherry and Synergy talks about.

“God, you know me so well. You created me. You know the number of hairs on my head, and you even know the thoughts conceived in my heart before I ever vocalize them. You’ve told us to come to you and ask for every need of life. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and you have the final word on my destiny, the number of years I’ll live and serve you on earth.

I’m coming to you today as your child, longing to hear from you and asking for your divine healing. There’s so much I don’t understand about life. I absolutely believe you have the power to heal. You demonstrated that on earth, and you still heal in miraculous ways today. Even when my faith is weak, you say it is enough, and my love for you is strong. And I know you already hold my heart and life in your hands. It’s up to you. If I can bring you more glory through healing, then that’s what I ask for. That’s what I desire.

But if your answer is no, or not now, I know that your grace is sufficient for me. Ultimately, I want your will to be my will. I look forward to spending an eternity with you. But Lord, if you have planned still more for me to do here on this earth, I not only need and want your physical healing, Lord, but a thorough, deep-down cleansing and strengthening-a whole-hearted renewal of all that I am. Because all that I am is yours. Use this trial to strengthen me from a “what-if” faith to a “no-matter-what” faith. And no matter what, I choose to honor you and give you glory.
